If it was possible to leave 0 stars I would have.This experience of owning a Timberblock home has been the single worst home purchase we’ve ever made! Where to start?…shoddy construction, insanely LONG wait times for responses to issues and queries, lack of support when a supplier has an inferior product but then files for bankruptcy…the list goes on…and on…. Endless leaks from windows and doors that aren’t installed correctly. Having to repaint and restain floors and walls after all the leaks have ruined the interiors. Save your sanity, save your marriage and SAVE YOURSELVES! Do NOT use them. Run, don’t walk, to ANY other home builder!

Outrageous price and very poor service. They do not stand behind their work nor their subcontractors. My parents have been left with leaking doors for almost a year and they haven't done a thing about it (very expensive house with leaking doors). Everything Timber Block does is 3 times the price and they supply/recommend subpar subcontractors who are unable to complete the job. The Timber Block project manager never even visited the site to see the progress or deal with issues. Find your own qualified general contractor to build for you and you will have way better service, product and the home will be done right at a fraction of the cost. Everything with these guys is extra.

So far so good!After many years of looking for a home and speaking with many contractors in my area these folks have just been stellar to us. They have been prompt, courteous, attentive and friendly. The sales rep we have spoken with is just a real nice person. We just did a 700km round trip to meet them and see the product.If I could buy the home based only my first impressions and the customer service so far I would. This has not been our experience with others, and with the biggest purchase of most people’s life you want to be treated a certain way. They have given me time and looked at everything I have sent. They have looked at my lot and many others things. They want happy customers.Even if we don’t buy from them we feel they are a great company and are very satisfied with the service rendered so far.

Not happy at all with my experience with Timber Block. The only way to do a financially productive build would be to do a self build. This means you have to hire all your own contractors and be responsible for everything yourself.After giving a 4k deposit I attempted to get quotes for things myself which was very time consuming. I decided to get quotes from Timber Block and that's when I realized that building their home was going to cost way more than a traditional build.Their quotes were outrageous. Close to triple to quotes I got on my own. They wanted close to 80k to frame the home and install the windows and doors. I got my own quote from a local framer for 34k.Also they will charge a huge delivery fee but do not include unloading it from their truck.Another con is you have to pay for the house when it is delivered. This creates a huge problem if you are going to finance your build. Unless you have a huge down payment you will not get approved because banks finance based on work completed in each stage. They will not give a lump sum for a house on a trailer.Timber Block is not registered with Tarion so even if you use their construction department to do your build you are still considered a self build and not covered under Tarion.Make sure you do all your homework before you leave the 4k deposit. I wish I did.I have since hired a Tarion registered home builder. I am getting a similar sized house now with a 3 car garage for probably 150k to 200k less than if I went with Timber Block.

From the moment we first met and started the process of building our home we knew we made right decision to entrust the Timberblock Team with such a huge investment in our lives! From the initial design, permitting, construction right up to the final finishes the staff at Timberblock were there with us every step of the way with their expertise, guidance, suggestions, and support.We are now living in a beautiful eco-friendly log home and couldn’t be happier! A very special thank-you to everybody for their understanding and guidance when circumstances due to Covid-19 forced us to to make some cutbacks and went the extra mile to help us stay within budget but still have the dream home we wanted! You couldn’t ask for a better designed home or a better group of people to work with!
