Zahra is a caring and tentative midwife. She was there for me when I needed, at the hospital and after delivery. I am so happy that I chose midwife instead of OB and I am so happy that I picked Burnaby Midwifery Care.

I was very lucky to have Zahra as my midwife throughout my first pregnancy and delivery. I am originally from Japan and it was not easy to go through pregnancy and birth in where I speak English as my second language. Zahra, however, always had patient with me and tried to explain things until I fully understood. Thanks to her, my husband and I were always able to make informed decisions. It ended up being a very difficult birth with a big baby boy, but she supported us not only physically but also mentally. I strongly recommend her and Burnaby Midwifery Care!

Zahra was the midwife who delivered my baby. I had such a great experience in labor she was really patient with me. I had to be induced and my labor was going very slowly. She stayed with me for the whole time, and I really liked her advice and the way she guided me. I think she is so knowledgeable and really loves her job!

Zahra and her team are amazing. From the moment I met with Zahra I knew I had chosen the perfect midwife. Having had an ceaseran with my first child, I REALLY wanted to have a VBAC. Zahra supported us with our decision to try VBAC and made sure that we were very informed. Her calm loving demeanor helped give me the reassurance I needed. Such a great service that i never seen before!

Choosing Zahra as my midwife was one of the best choices I made for myself and my baby. Zahra is attentive, caring and willing to work with the mother. I never felt pressured into any decision regarding my pregnancy and birth. Instead Zahra patiently walked me through the options available, and gave me the knowledge I needed to make a decision that was right for my circumstances. During the labour itself she was right there with me from the moment I was admitted to the hospital until my baby was born even though I was the third labour she attended in as many days! She is hard working and really loves what she does, and she made me feel supported and confident every step of the way!

Zahra was terrific. She was on top of all my needs and preferences throughout my pregnancy, and was an especially helpful, calming, and wonderful presence to have in my 3rd trimester and postpartum. I remember being in labour and felt SO relieved when she arrived at the hospital! She will always give you the straight facts that you need to know to make the right decision for you and your baby without being pushy, and she was always very kind and respectful. Her office is conveniently located and her office is clean, inviting, and comfortable. Also love her receptionist, Noosha! Highly recommend.

In October 2018 we were looking for a mid-wife and found Burnaby Midwifery Care and applied online, within 24 hours we got a response from the office and was lucky enough to be accepted by Zahra Khoddamy. Amazing response time!Right off the bat on our first meeting, Zahra was extremely patient and detailed into getting to know more about us. We did not feel rushed and Zahra provided detailed answers to numerous questions and concerns that we had.We continued to have meetings with Zahra on a regular basis throughout the weeks and month to come. I can say that at every meeting Zahra always welcomed us with a smile and a hug, and it was truly comforting especially during the hard times of my pregnancy. Zahra throughout the meeting had always been detailed and methodical in what she does, she always ensured that the required follow ups and check ups were done in a timely manner and provided us with a detailed update of the report.When I was at the hospital about to give birth, Zahra came in right away and accompanied me throughout the whole process. (From early labour to delivery) I encountered a minor complication during the delivery and Zahra was quick to find an obstetrician to assist and allowed a successful natural birth to a healthy baby! Thank you!After the baby was born, Zahra continued to provide excellent support for me and the baby. At one point an immediate check up was required for the baby and Zahra personally called the on duty doctor for us and we were able to see a doctor within a short period of time! On a separate occasion Zahra personally called a specialist to check on an urgent test result for me, I was then immediately provided an update which really provided me with a peace of mind. Zahra is a great advocate for her clients!Zahra has truly been amazing and wonderful for me and my baby. If you are looking for a mid-wife that is reliable, caring, trust worthy and responsible.
