The Hospice Thrift Store [Formerly The Compassionate Closet]

I can't overstate how amazing this place is. The aesthetic is lovely (clothes are laid out by type and then also by colour family, so racks are nuanced hues of blue or pink or purple), the store is always filled with high end brands and never-worn clothing. I have shopped there too many time to count and for under $100 I can do a full wardrobe refresh. Hit finds finds have included brand new or basically new Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and Steve Madden as well as smaller private labels. Prices are comparable with some other for-profit thrift store whose name we shall not speak, but no second hand Walmart here. They recently started a small men's section, which delights my partner too. Added bonus - your purchases support a good cause!

This is a very clean and beautifully organized second hand store run by fashion savvy staff who are always friendly. The prices are very similar to what you find at other thrift stores but the condition and cleanliness of the clothing is much higher. All proceeds go to Hospice Halifax.

Lovely place as soon as we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly women. I love how on one side you can buy more newer clothes and shoes, and the other side is a thrift store.

Found the cutest sweater with dogs today at this place. It was fairly priced and it felt good that 100% of the proceeds go to Hospice Halifax

What a cute, well laid out second hand store!!!The staff were extremely welcoming and so friendly! I honestly felt like I was shopping with a best friend, the way they were so personable!!Definitely a place to go to if you're just starting out a professional office job and looking for a cute outfit.It was a larger place than expected, and the brands were well suited for a place like this! Lots to choose from

Stunningly laid out second hand store! Feels like you're in a boutique down on Spring Garden Road! Proceeds go to a great cause. Again a smaller collection of menswear but some really interesting pieces. They also have some interesting furniture. Definitely worth the trip

Very posh!A beautiful display of second hand, good quality clothes and shoes. I have bought several pairs of shoes, regularly priced at over $100 for a mere $15 or $20, virtually new! And no HST.....I also purchased blouses and cardigans I am very pleased with.There is a thriftier side where you can buy brand new socks for $1 a pair and shorts are a mere $2.50.Staff is wonderful!
