They don’t listen to what you want. You sit the the designer, you say what you want, they draw it up for you and make you think that they understand you. They even sent you a mock up of what it will look like, looking exactly as you asked. Until the installer comes and it isn’t what you asked for! We wanted a counter over our washer/dryer, coming out over them to use as a table. Instead they came with one that sticks only a bit out and had a 6 inch gap between the top of the washer/dryer and the table top. Don’t bother wasting your money with them. They are overhyped and won’t listen to you anyways.

I decided to work with California Closet for my pantry, master bedroom closet and laundry closet, as my parents had used their services 15 years ago when they did renovations at their house. Although I was initially welcomed warmly at the show room, the whole process afterwards was a nightmare, mostly because of the designer (Lauren) assigned to my project. After the initial call session, the designer took many days/weeks to respond to some of my questions, which delayed the whole project. Once the contract was signed, I did not receive any clear emails from the designer for 3.5 months regarding installation dates, even with multiple communication attempts. Somehow, I had to get in touch with the Montreal/Ottawa General Manager to finally get an installation date (1 month away). It seemed like I had lost almost 4 months waiting for nothing. Although I am pleased with the final result, the overall process was very much disappointing.

California Closets Ottawa did a superb job designing, and installing our big project on time and within budget. Critically, they were still responsive with issues months afterwards. Very professional. We recommend.

I had an amazing experience with California Closets. The project to extend my main bedroom closet and transform it into a walk-in started in January but was put to an halt shortly before the start of the build due to COVID. The last piece was installed today, September 9.My representative Katrina Menkes, stayed in constant communication with a wonderful, positive attitude. The result is beyond my expectations.I have already recommended her to my friends and would not hesitate to call her again for any future project.
