Fabulous brunch experience with my aunt who has extremely hard to please standards for restaurants - she LOVED it. I also loved my asparagus soup, and strawberry dessert, thumbs up for seasonal delights!

We had brunch today at Belong and it was a fantastic experience. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. Some of the menu items we tried were shrimp bisque, corn-crusted pickerel and the most amazing eggs benny. And let’s not forget the chocolate mousse (which we did not need) that was totally worth the indulgence. The restaurant is located in a simple cottage-like building overlooking the beach at Sharbot Lake. You can sit inside or enjoy your meal on the patio. We will definitely be back!

Beginning with sweet endings, the apple crisp was just right - crunchy crumble, slightly sweet apples, divine creme anglaise and topped with chantilly cream. Can't get that anywhere else! Lunch mains of hamburger, a tad dry and the pickerel weren't quite was expected. Generous portion. However pickerel is such a good tasting fish it was disappointing to have it deep fried with a bit overpowering batter when a quick pan fry in butter would have let the pickerel taste come through. It's hard to beat Five Guys fries and Belong didn't make the cut. Salad fresh and just right amount of dressing. They've done a great job with refurbishing the place and cloth napkins are classy. The lake view with the fabulous new doors, (not to mention surprisingly well appointed bathrooms) add to a dining concept that is a bonus to a very small community. It would be nice to have something on the menu for when the kids come for fun in cottage country and be a draw other than just the lake. The patio seems just the likely place! Will come again and try dinner or brunch.

Definitely the most disappointing dining experience on Hwy 7 between Ottawa and Toronto. We stopped there a year or so ago for a typical quick bite in a rural Ontario atmosphere while traveling, it was terrific! Remembering our former visit we recently stopped by… $22.00 for a hamburger with no side($11.00 to add fries), not to mention a stingy 5 oz wine pour for $11.00 (that’s $2.20 per oz … that’s the same as downtown Toronto at a Jays game! Tips are factored into the pricing, again a more urban idea and takes the discretionary portion of paying out of the equation. You’re in Sharbot Lake!! A stop along Hwy 7 for weary travellers and hungry families! Your wonderfully, newly decorated restaurant with delightfully delicious (albeit limited) menu belongs on Yonge street in TO or Elgin Street in Ottawa or starve to death in the winter in beautiful Sharbot Lake (because the unsuspecting tourists that won’t be returning, have left). You are trying to bring cosmopolitan, urban pricing to quaint, rustic, rural Ontario without the overhead costs associated with a big city! Always on the side of supporting small businesses and vision…but you need to seriously readdress your flawed business plan and recognize your demographic.Best of luck! Just trying to give constructive criticism…

We stopped in during our bike packing trip. Clean, modern place, good food and wait staff. The milk bun they make is melt in your mouth good! What was most impressive (and we only found out as we were paying), they don't take tips, the staff gets paid a living wage. Way to go Belong Sharbot Lake, so progressive!

We had an amazing meal last weekend - took my mom out for an early mother's day celebration on Saturday night. They did an amazing job on the renovation, it looks spectacular in there. We ordered calamari and portobello dishes as appetizers - yum! Then we got prime rib, fried chicken, and a pork stew as our mains. Everything came out very quickly and was delicious. Mom said this was the best prime rib she's had in ages (even better than the Keg) and the portion was HUGE. My fried chicken was everything you would want in a fried chicken - crispy, well seasoned and juicy.Dishes may be a bit on the pricey side compared to what this area is used to however it is absolutely worth it for the quality of the ingredients/food and the service was awesome. They also pay their staff a living wage and have a no tip policy which helps justify the price. We'll be back for sure!

This was a delightful dining experience. I look forward to when they are fully up and running for the season. Good luck on a full time operation. Looking forward to my next visit.

First time dining at Belong proved to be a memorable night out. Great service, delicious and abundant fare and wonderful staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The wine list could be more extensive. Would love to see some good California Chardonnays and Cabs included in the wine offering .Can’t wait to return.
