Veena Pohani Barrister and Solicitor

Veena was my 3rd and final lawyer in a very long, contentious and bitter divorce. She was an extremely powerful fighter and advocate for me, which was especially important since I felt that the cards were stacked against me. She never wavered though. She could be a pit bull or a diplomat - whatever was needed to win. She was extremely knowledgeable about family law, but more importantly, because of the complex nature of my case, she was able to draw on her very strong network of legal professionals. I felt like I had a whole team backing me. She argued a very important motion for me and was not intimidated at all by the judge. While my ex's lawyer made very passionate arguments, Veena made LEGAL arguments, passionately. When it was over, because of Veena, I knew it was a slam dunk for us. When Veena called me to tell me we won, it didn’t just feel like I won, but like WE won - that's how vested she was in advocating for me. And an ADVOCATE she was. She was a tireless fighter for MY interests. I never felt like this was just another case to Veena - it always felt like she was personally invested in my case, and fighting for me. This was OUR case, not just mine. I especially appreciated Veena's willingness to be honest and truthful with me, no matter how difficult it was for me to hear that truth. I always felt like I could trust her to get the facts. I always found her to bill me honestly, and never had to question her charges. If anything, I found that she did many extras which I know she never charged me for. It's for these reasons, among many more, that I have no hesitation in recommending Veena to anyone that's fighting a simple or difficult case. This is probably the worst family counsel on the planet! If you are thinking of hiring this firm to conduct any kind of business for you, DONT! She is extremely unprofessional, has no clue on the ever changing system with legal and will waist your time and money. These glorified law clerks that calls themselves lawyers are a joke to real and actual lawyers. This review is not written based on emotion but fact and experience, Siri on your iPhone could probably conduct better practice than Veena! Don’t listen to the 5 start reviews, they are probably family or friends of here’s.

I came across Veena back in 2020 as I was on a search for a family lawyer. I remember calling her after calling 15 lawyers the same day. By the first couple of minutes into the phone call; I knew she would be the one to ensure the job gets done. She is one tough woman and a very very strong lawyer you want in your corner!!Veena has been one of the greatest choices I have made. If you’re looking for a strong voice for your case. She is the person for you! Very confident, knowledgeable and supportive. She has always made time for my calls, questions and concerns. Ready to assist in any way to provide the best approach. The worst experience, very incompetent and unprofessional. never took time to understand and or properly advise me. Always asks for cash and does not utilize time properly. She is always late for meetings, and rushes you but charges the full amount. She actually met with my ex wife without my knowledge while she is representing me. She never drafted the agreement but emailed the a copy of the opposing agreement and told me it is fine, but there were so many items missing and terms changed.During a 4 way meeting with the opposing council and my EX, she took personal calls from her contractors who is renovating a property that she said she is buying and selling. You can never get an answer from her in a timely manner even when it's urgent. she was disrespectful and rude towards me. I have sent an email a few months a go asking if she can email me documents, I have yet to receive a response or documents .....

By far the most professional lawyer I have worked with. Veena and her staff are wonderful. Veena went way above and beyond helping me out with what I needed, she took time out of her personal life to help me with anything I needed and even called me to touch base on how things worked out on a regular basis. I would recommend Veena to anyone looking for sound legal advice. She is a straight shooter and compassionate as well. In my opinion to go with anybody else would be foolish. I would not recommend retaining Veena as your lawyer. I believe that my experience was quite disappointing. I was made to believe that Veena would undertake my case and represent me as her client. However, upon paying her retainer fee, Veena did not registered herself as my lawyer with the courts and depleted my funds without doing any meaningful work on my behalf.Reply to Veena 's Response:Your comment is totally untrue. I retained you for your service to represent me and upon retainer it was your duty as my attorney to immediately register with the courts on my behalf which you did not do. Instead, you continued to work on my behalf without officially registering with the courts, making me believe that you were officially my lawyer. Furthermore, I had no choice but to eventually fire you after I contacted the court and was made aware of your status that they had no record on file as my lawyer, As a result, I eventually had to retain a new lawyer.

Veena helped me get my daughter back who was apprehended from me for months by the CAS and some Nasty ex in laws. She was so timely and efficient and even got me some of my legal fees in our final proceedings which is a rare case in child protective services. She was beyond excellent in court and always responsive. I am so pleased with my service I would highly recommend as Veena truly is a beyond excellent lawyer who puts her time and effort into what she does! Thank you so much for reuniting me with my daughter I cannot thank you enough
