la Cakery Cambridge

Tried La Cakery Cambridge today in my ongoing quest to try and rank every bakery in the Tri-cities. I was impressed. The first thing I noticed is just how huge the display cases were with a massive variety of various cakes and pastries. There was so much that caught my attention it was impossible to sample everything that looked good. The shop seemed heavily influenced by Italian pastry, including several things I had not tried before.I ended up selecting a pistachio cannoli, a pistachio arogostine, a tiramisu, a tuxedo finger, and a chocolate eclair. I usually also sample a croissant but sadly a server error left it out of my box and i didn't realize it until I was already gone.The eclair was very good with wonderful choux and generous real whipped cream. The cannoli had just the right amount of crunch to the shell. I had not had an aragostine before but loved the crunchy pastry with just the right amount of pistachio cream inside. I will definitely order again. All three italian pastries had excellent filling.I am not a fan of tiramisu as I hate coffee. (I had a bad experience as a child and still can't handle it today) but fortunately my italian co-worker was on hand to give me her evaluation. She praised the ricotta cream which she said was excellent and smooth. She approved of the traditional lady fingers but took issue with the chocolate cake base. She also wished for more booze. Her final judgement was It's not as good as what I make at home but its very good for store bought". I think this is the highest praise she is capable of giving and should be read as a ringing endorsement.Everything I tried was excellent and I can't wait to go back and try more. I think it will take several trips to even get close to a sampling a good cross section of their offerings. I didn't even get to try any cake this time.The baker came out and chatted when I asked questions and let me know that everything is made in house. I was also please with the hours

The cakes at this place are great and rich in taste. I ordered red valvet cake and assorted cupcakes which are just awesome and delicious. The staff is so nice and accommodating. I called the them literally like 5 times but the guy each time so accommodating and helpful at the call. My online ordering app was giving issues and the guy at the bakery helped me a lot with my order. Thank you to that staff guy and the store for making the day more beautiful.

My wife bought 3 small Black Forest cakes for my birthday. First bite tasted moldy. Second little cake also tasted of mold.Would look elsewhere before buying here again.

Went in to try. Got a donut and a lobster tail pastry. No prices on anything...12 dollars at register. Will not be back. Gave 2 stars.I rated this before tasting. I had a sugar craving...neither product satisfied my craving the lobster tail was awful. I now give 1 star.

Big selection of cakes, fast and friendly service. I ordered Red Velvet cake which tasted fresh and delicious

I purchased the Tuxedo cake, which combines vanilla and chocolate flavors, and found it to be enjoyable. The sweetness level was just right for me. The store was spotless and appeared to offer a wide variety of desserts. I plan to try other items in the future. The only downside was the absence of price tags on the products, which made it difficult for me to determine the cost without asking.

We ordered rainbow cake and custard tarts.Taste was yummy and goodGood customer serviceclean and neat places !All over good.

Expectations were quite high based on how they described the cake will be. But the end result was not up to the mark. It was a fresh fruit cake but The fruit pieces were frozen inside and was not possible to chew on them. Literally had to keep on scraping the cake to remove those fruit pieces. And the charge was quite high for each fruit we added, so it was a total bummer. The only good thing was how it looked and the cream. But I won’t be returning to this one.

I had 2 bites of cookie dough chocolate cake and found a white hair in it (I had to pull out the hair within the cake)! See picture review.Just don't bother with this place if they can't even keep up with health & regulations.Basically $5 down the drain and left me with a foul taste.
