We stopped by here for the first time on Sunday afternoon for a coffee and tea while out exploring. The restaurant has a pleasant western theme. We ended up ordering a plate of Nachos to share for a snack. A few minutes later this huge plate comes out, piled high with layers of chips, cheese, peppers, ground beef, dips etc. and we're thinking, there is no way we are eating all this and still going home for dinner. Everything was hot and tasty and the service was friendly. We were also impressed with how extensive the menu is. We liked the atmosphere in general. It is bright and open with huge windows and comfortable booths. There is a nice patio area, which we looked out at (covered in snow), wishing it was summer. We both shared, This is a nice surprise". We're looking forward to going back to try more of the menu."

Honestly the service was good welcoming and accommodating, drinks were good. As for the food, we weren't overly impressed to be honest. Their barbecue beef brisket was lacking any evidence of barbecue sauce and was more kinda lard with beef, texture more mushy then tender, french fries taste of old fryer grease, Cesar salad was watery and bland, sauteed mushrooms tasted of soap. The steak was really the only thing prepared to perfection. Front house staff 4 star for friendliness, accommodation and attitude, food sadly no more then a 2. Overall 3 star at best

We went 3rd time to have a meal at hitchin post and I must say this place is worth visiting for a meal or for drinks. They are having separate dining and lounge area. As soon as we entered, there was a server to attend us and provide us a place to sit and make us comfortable. They remembered our drinks preference, which was an impressive point. The food was fresh, unlike few other restaurants, scrumptious and well presented. Cooked at right temperature. The server was observant and taken care of all our need. I will definitely endorse this place.

came here today for lunch with my mum from red deer and we had jacey as our server. she was SO kind, attentive and outstanding customer service! she even mentioned to us that we were a pleasure to serve which was so lovely to say! we will definitely be back!oh! and the food was amazing as well!!

First time I've ever been served a ruben sandwich without saurkraut. Cold and soggy. Staff was not too concerned about it. You want good food and service? Go somewhere else.

We were able to show up as a group of 9 people of widely differing ages and food preferences and nobody had any issues finding something for them on the menu. The food was spot on and enjoyed by everyone with no complaints.

Service was great, incredibly friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was calm and welcoming too. The food was honestly not the greatest though, my partner ordered the steak sandwich, ceasar salad with a side of mushrooms and I ordered the bourbon BBQ brisket sandwich with fries and gravey. Steak was good, but the bread was barely toaster with next to no garlic flavor, mushrooms tasted soapy and the salad was watered down. My sandwich was cold and greasy with a mushy meat texture, and no bbq flavor, the fries tasted of old fry grease. Overall great front house staff and mixed drinks, the food however was lacking quality.

Absolutely brutal. Asked for the soup and had nothing in it. Asked what I can do about the soup, they offered to refill it. Came back with less in it. If I wanted straight broth I would have went to Nofrills and used my own microwave. Asked for water and didn’t receive it. No napkins or cutlery. Waitress was very rude to me and other tables. Absolutely will not be coming back ever again.
