We have done two major projects with Macanta (complete basement renovation and accessible granny suite addition) since 2020. Cory, Desmond and their team were incredibly wonderful to work with, in that they communicated well, acted with integrity and professionalism, and delivered a high quality outcome (with impeccable customer service delivery). I had complete trust that they would follow through and resolve any concerns we may have had (or that they anticipated we'd have in advance). I would recommend Macanta for any major home renovation project, addition or build, and would engage thier services again should we embark on any major renovations. They take great pride and effort into listening to your needs and wants and then make it reality (from concept to design to build). A build customized to you and your family's wants and needs! We enjoyed having them and their crews here over the past few years as they were always very friendly and professional. Nothing like starting a major renovation (unknowingly) at the beginning of a pandemic!We met with a number of contractors a year before we actually started, and Macanta came back and asked why we didn't select them. While we hadn't actually selected anyone yet, the follow-up impressed us as well as the high level of communication and transparency around all aspects of the project.Cory, Rob and the rest of the team were in contact with us regularly, updating us on progress with the construction, delays and anything else that arose during the project. Their attention to detail, passion, and business model kept us on budget, and on time.Our house went from an eyesore in the neighbourhood to a highlight. We are so happy with the finished product, we can't recommend Macanta enough.

We first contacted Macanta because we saw and liked their work on other houses in our neighbourhood. We aren't rich and Cory helped us stay realistic with our project while making sure that we would not sacrifice quality.Planning and executing a renovation through the pandemic and global supply chain disruption was difficult. Our project faced many challenges. A lesser company might have chosen to sweep the problems under the rug and write our project off, choosing to get through it and focus on the next project on the list. Instead the Macanta team redoubled their efforts and worked through the difficulties with transparency and accountability. We were certainly not their most lucrative contract of the year, however we felt like we always got their best efforts and they always made time for us.We have always felt like Cory was on our side and we can honestly say Macanta did everything they could to design and build a home we will love for decades to come. There aren't many companies that I would describe as truly trustworthy and accountable, Macanta is one.

We used Macanta for a kitchen addition/renovation in 2021 and can not say enough good things! The workmanship and design are excellent, and every member of their team was wonderful to work with - from their office staff to the trades they employ. We opted to live at home during the renovation, and were admittedly worried going into construction, however everyone was so kind and respectful and we always felt very comfortable. Thank you Macanta, we love our new kitchen. We will definitely use them if/when we are in need of a new renovation.

Cory has been my go-to contractor for more than 10 years now, progressing from smaller jobs to a full main floor remodel and complete exterior renovation. I appreciate working with Macanta because I know the job will be done properly and that all communications will be clear, especially around costs. My most recent renovation was completed under very challenging circumstances in summer 2021, and while it took a bit longer than originally forecast, Macanta delivered an excellent finished project, on budget, with clear communication at all stages. Macanta beautifully renovated our >100-year-old 3000 sq ft home almost 2 years ago. I waited to write the reviews because I wanted to see the quality and durability of their work. This was a major interior renovation that included asbestos removal; new plumbing, electrical and HVAC system installation from scratch; removal of a weight bearing wall with their engineer involved. They also completely replaced the wood floors, and windows and exterior doors. The kitchen and 3 bathrooms were built after complete gut down. The tiled floor and walls and stone countertops, entire kitchen and all bathrooms look fabulous. The original wood panels and trims were preserved well and additional wood work were carved and matched to previous wood work. This was a quality job and I was very surprised with the details and thoroughness of their work. I received complements from many of our friends and colleagues.I was very particular about giving this project to someone who I can trust. Not only he came with a good recommendation but I also chose Cory over several other contractors as he gave very honest opinion on what should be done in the house, what should stay and what should change. He was very thorough on his proposal of what he would do and how they will take the renovation further in this historic property. Moreover, Macanta came with a complete package. They have their own designer, architect, engineer, and they consult genuine and authentic stores for the materials. I can comment on these thing as I was very much involved with them since this project was very dear to me and I was very specific about the products being used in my house. Renovation is itself a stressful process. I think they handled my stress very well and we could have a normal work and a relatively normal family lifestyle during the renovation. The house was cleaned after work on regular basis and I felt safe and happy with the new development every time I visited the house.Although it took few more months then we expected, which is usually the case with every renovation project, I am very satisfied with the quality and durability of high-end products they have used and the house looks terrific, beyond our expectation. Their quote was fair for the quality work and product they use and most importantly, there were no changes in amount unless we made some extension, including installing a steam unit in our ensuite, which was not part of the initial project. After we moved to the house, there were few minor repairs needed in last two years. Macanta took the responsibility for these repairs to our satisfaction and they respected 2 years warranty period without any hesitation and no extra charges.Their staffs (Cory, Gen, Desmond, Ben) are very professional and responsible. They cared about all my needs and replied to my every single email whenever I had any concerns or wanted any change. They were transparent throughout the project and kept up in loop at all stages of renovation, with several accompanied visits. During this they also shared their past experience and their feedbacks that helped me to make the right decision on several stages of the project. As a result, every part of the house is so functional now and I enjoy the unique and customized work that goes so well with the historic look of the house.
