Introduced to Birdies last Thanksgiving by a guest who brought a loaf and served with whipped butter. It was so yummy, it is now a reason to pull me over the bridge from Halifax (and I know there are many other great reasons too!). Love all the inspired and hearty offerings. Had a bread pudding muffin the other day. WOW :)

What a beautiful little store! When I walked in I was blown away. It’s simply decorated with natural elements. They have a few comfortable tables to have your lunch or coffee and a sweet. But most importantly... their product is delicious! I grabbed a loaf of their ‘plain’ sourdough (maybe it’s called farmers? I can’t remember in the 20 minutes since I grabbed it!)The crust is perfectly crunchy and the inside is soft and moist. The Italian vegetable soup is flavourful and filling. It’s full of chunky pieces of Zucchini, beans, carrots, etc. It is very homemade (in a good way!)I’ll be back!The suggestion that I can offer to the delightful owners is to make sandwiches to showcase your amazing bread (even if it’s a daily selection like your soup).

Inside looks amazing. Clean and tidy. Staff were lovely. Pastries wasn't the best in the city. Cookie was good but not great. Chocolate croissant don't think their chocolate work well with the croissant. It just didn't tasted good. Country style bread was actually good. There's an after taste but I like it that way. So overall, a good place and decent prices.

Lovely small business with delicious home baked bread, goodies and local products. Unfortunately each time I’ve stopped by I’ve had the same staff who has been very cold, impatient and unfriendly which has left me feeling negative about my experiences at Birdies. I’ve visited over half a dozen times since we moved to Dartmouth so this isn’t a one time thing. Hopefully as they grow they’ll be able to employ front counter staff who have stronger interpersonal skills.

Nice little cozy bakery tucked away near the Woodlawn Ferry. I stopped by and had a bread pudding muffin, it was delicious with plump juicy raisins and chocolate chips ! Yum !

Bread done to perfection as well as the deserts as are the soups and sandwiches. Ate here a few times and have never been disappointed. Comfy and welcoming .

Birdies' baked goods are some of the best in metro. Their bread is delicious and then also make great breakfast sandwiches! My partner and I love to stop in to grab some breakfast and a loaf to take home.

Celebrating our volunteer teams for a week, we looked for locally owned businesses to purchase treats from. Birdies was a recommendation from another business, and was such an excellent team to work with - had lots of great ideas, and they put together some great assorted boxes. The oatmeal cookies with orange buttercream are unbelievably delicious - a must try item if you ask me. I also purchased a loaf of sourdough bread and it was the best we've had in HRM. My boss was able to have some too as they don't use yeast in their sourdough. So so fresh and delicious. Will be back and highly recommend. I also love that they sell other items from local makers in the store. That's what community is all about!
