Great experience at this restaurant. Affordable yet very high quality, refined and tasty food. Nice presentation of the food also. All the staff was very nice, helpful and honest. They even gave us a cake for my friends birthday! They have a terrace but also tables close to the window for when it’s hotter outside. It’s a very trendy place also.

We had a lovely dining experience at Makro. The interior atmosphere and restaurant itself is so beautiful and we had the best service in Montreal as a group from our server, Arther (maybe Archer). He was a young individual from France who made things fun and provided amazing service! My only complaint would be that our green curry salmon tasted a little bland. The mains were less underwhelming than the shared starters but the dessert (almond cake recommended by our server) was sooo tasty!

I feel like two stars is quite generous considering my less than acceptable experience.The marketing for this restaurant is great which is what pushed me to try it out. I definitely believe they rely heavily on their marketing for their traffic because their food and service will not bring me in there for a second time.I had a party of three and was only brought two menus. Not a big deal but that was only the start of a terrible experience. Throughout the whole night, our water glasses were only refilled twice. When my friend asked for a bottle to be brought over and kept at the table, it was to my surprise that we were charged for the water. (Great business model I guess - keep your guests dehydrated so they’re forced to purchase water)As for food, all of the 1 star reviews are true. Please believe it.Our $59 octopus plate was for the most part potatoes. I am so glad to have paid a 1000% mark-up for a pound of potatoes.The lobster risotto was simply bad and caused a stomach ache for my party of three. None of us have lactose intolerance or shellfish allergies so I am almost 100% sure the cause was due to poor food handling.Tuna Tartare was alright. I would have rather walked a few more blocks to get sushi from SHUSHU if I’m going to be honest. At least then, I would’ve actually enjoyed the taste.To top the night off, our server became hostile after not receiving a tip from one of the guests in my table. I think it’s very important to reflect if your service was actually decent to begin with before throwing a tantrum at guests who received less than decent service. If I’m going to be honest, I absolutely regret even tipping the amount that I did after seeing how the server acted.

This place exceeded our expectations. The food was super delicious. We tried octopus which was tender and tasted as nowhere before. Tuna tartare rice cakes taste almost like sushi. But special shout-out to their cocktails! Everything we tried was very delicious. My friend is now fan of their litchi martini. Will be definitely back!

I planned a private event here within 24 hours for about 45 people. The sister restaurant next door (Grinder) had a fire in the days leading up to this event I had been planning for a month to host in their private dining room. Instead, the managers Terri and Arthur helped turn it around so we would not have to cancel and we held it at Makro instead. While the main dining room at Makro was not our first choice, it was a beautiful setting with incredible food and even better service. The team was so professional and executed the 4 course dinner (beef carpaccio pictured below) during various presentations to perfection. We had a time constraint of 3 hours to serve everything, and like clockwork everything was delivered on time. Not to mention they set up microphones we provided, and their own projector and screen (that they purchased last minute)when there wasn’t any installed in the main dining room in the first place. I cannot recommend the team there for any private event (corporate or otherwise).

Overpriced, rude waitter, not attentive, loud music, small portions. Ain't going back again. You need at least 100 dollars per person.Also, I made a payment and tipped but because waitter wasn't satisfied with the tip amount, and said if you dont pay a certain amount of the tip
