My mom, sister and I decided to be the Sanderson sisters from hockus pocus for Halloween and my mom couldn't help but order this incredible cake for the book. Kathie did an amazing job and every detail was perfect

Kathie made us delicious cupcakes for our postponed wedding celebration this past summer. She comes highly recommended, and if you shop around, it is obvious why, even from the first tasting. Her take-home tasting package was incredible, with a dozen cupcakes with different cake, filling, and icing options to sample (see first photo). The presentation and quality was significantly better than any of her competitors. We ended up going with 3 custom filled cupcake combinations for the wedding. The original event had to be postponed from 2021 to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kathie kindly transferred our contract to the new date, which we were very appreciative of. The cupcakes turned out amazing. They were the perfect size (just right, not too big or small), beautifully decorated, and absolutely delicious. We and the guests thoroughly enjoyed them! The only complaint we had was around communication. We know that she is a small business and one-woman operation, but it was a bit stressful leading up to the wedding when details had yet to be confirmed and we were not hearing back from her. We were eventually able to connect and everything turned out perfectly, so it all worked out. Kathie is a professional and delivered as promised, but she is very in demand and busy so just be aware that it may be challenging to reach her at times.

My Wife and I ordered a two-piece Wedding Cake (A half Vanilla, half Red Velvet Cake, all Keto) for our special occasion, and we can both say that this is the best cake we have purchased! The cakes were fluffy, spongy, moist, and delicious. The guests we had were also absolutely raving about the cakes. Kathie delivered professional service, outstanding product and best of all - she made our special day even more special with the magnificent work she created. I would definitely recommend Kakes by Kathie-Kelowna Wedding Cakes to anyone!

I hired Kathie to make a cutting cake and cupcakes for our wedding in August of 2021. She comes highly recommended for all things cake in Kelowna and she was wonderful. I don't live in Kelowna currently and we were planning our wedding throughout the COVID pandemic ... but Kathie knew just what to do. She made 3 different flavors of cupcakes with different kinds of frosting and she also made us a gorgeous naked" cutting cake that fit perfectly in with the theme of the wedding. 2-tier Graduation cake for close to $300 was pretty and fun but disappointed in taste. While 2 distinct flavour profiles (1 for each tier) were indistinct and underwhelming, the depth of sweetness in the filling was somewhat profuse. There seemed no zest in the lemon zest cake and the requested fresh strawberries in the filling seemed somewhat overprocessed or even canned. And the caramel drizzle on the bottom cake was attractive but tasteless and a little overcooked (more like toffee). 15 guests were excited to cut into this pretty cake … and all expressed negative opinions on it’s tastes. As the host, I was quite embarassed. As the customer I feel incredibly disappointed. I don’t think I will order again. It’s a lot of money wasted with absolutely no recourse. Once an event is over the need no longer exists.

Kathie did an amazing job on my Brother’s 25th Birthday cake! It looked too good to eat at first, but tasted absolutely amazing!! Definitely will be coming back her again for cakes or even cupcakes!

Kathie made our wedding cake this past summer and she did an incredible job! We loved how many flavour options she offers for the cake and for the fillings, it was so easy to please everyone at our wedding with different flavoured cake tiers to offer the guests! She created an absolutely beautiful cake that was exactly like the inspiration photo I showed her, and she delivered it to our venue herself on the day of the wedding, taking a huge amount of stress off of us. The cake was absolutely delicious and we feel so lucky that she was involved in our big day!

We had Kakes by kathe for our wedding. The cake was decent but the icing which was supposed to be cream cheese frosting but tasted more just like regular frosting.Pricing was great but customer service was poor. We had to call, email and drop in to even get a response at one point which was 3 weeks prior to our wedding. There had been multiple weeks where we didn’t hear from her. Obviously a very stressful time and not knowing if your cake vendor will show is very concerning.

Kathie made us the most beautiful cake for our son’s first birthday! I am beyond words as to how perfect and detailed her work is, she is truly amazing at what she does and honestly just the sweetest person. We went in with an idea and she came up with the most creative and beautiful suggestions. Thank you so much Kathie! xxx
