We hired the services of Otto & Company for an appraisal of a motel we are under contract to purchase. I was very impressed with their over service and would highly recommend them. Beginning with the initial communication from our appraiser Jay all the way through to the actual report he prepared. It was probably the most detailed and data supporting appraisal I’ve ever received. It definitely was not one of those cut and paste type. Again I highly recommend them.

My mortgage company recommended Otto and Company to do 5 appraisals for me in order to renew my mortgages. Chris contacted my property management personally to set up the appraisals. I was charged $1864.50 in advance ( all the condos are identical size and in the same complex). During the appraisals one of the tenants informed Chris that she had a sleeping baby in one of the bedrooms and prefered he didn't enter and wake the baby. A letter from the property manager confirms he wasn't refused access. Chris told her there was no problem and submitted the appraisal without the photo of that room. He sent me an email saying he had completed his appraisals and if I wanted him to go back to photo the room it would cost me $325 plus tax. The mortgage company refused to renew the motgage with out the room photoed. When I contacted Lisa Otto the owner and asked her how they could say the appraisals were complete if the mortgage company is saying it's not she sent a blunt email. She told me the appraisals where submitted and the mortgage company thanked them for their professionalism. At this point, Lisa asked me to not contact her or her staff again. Obviously this is a money grab so beware if you pay this company in advance. Lisa Otto didn't even feel this was worth her time to call me back as I requested. Thirty seconds googling a different company would be well worth your time and money. Unfortunately I cannot post without giving this sham 1 star.

Have always received great service from Otto & Company. Jay has done many appraisals for us and we are always happy with his thorough analysis and professional service. Highly recommend.

I have had four real estate appraisals performed by Otto & Company. All the appraisals have been performed in a timely manner. The evaluations have also been accurate from both the commercial and residential sides of real estate. The personnel have been polite and prompt in their attention to my requirements. I would not hesitate to have them perform future appraisals on my behalf or on behalf of my clients.
