The Birth Year - Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum support

When I think about our birth story, besides getting to meet our son for the first time - Jennifer was a huge highlight and wonderful part of our day. Choosing to have a hospital birth for our first baby I knew I wanted to have the support of a familiar face and someone who I could trust during the most vulnerable day of my life. Jennifer not only spent countless hours by our side, but kept the room calm, happy and a safe place for me. As someone who was terrified of the unknown and birth in general, I felt completely at ease with Jennifer next to me. She literally did not leave my side. My husband who is typically a very shy person was also able to coach me with so much ease thanks to Jennifer giving him advice and encouragement on affirmations to use at each stage of labour. Her postpartum visits were lovely! She was easily available for any questions we had and was so reassuring which was exactly what I needed those first few weeks at home! My one and only regret is that I waited too long to reach out and get in touch with Jennifer. I didn't decide to have a doula until I was 34 weeks pregnant and I wish I would have called her the moment I found out I was expecting. We were so fortunate she had availability to take us on as clients. We 1000% recommend Jennifer to anyone! You would be in the best care possible for an amazing birth experience.

I can't even begin to put into words how valuable Jen was to us through both of our births. I felt calm and empowered with her guidance. Plus, she delivered the most incredible photos. They are raw and real, but also flattering and so well composed. I was blown away with how beautifully she captured such intense moments right before our babies arrived. I will treasure them forever. Jen was an amazing support through out our pregnancy and birth. She was that constant reassuring presence through out the birth of our son. She just quietly sat and kept feeding me all the reassuring words that I needed to get through each contraction. I know without a doubt if she wasn't there we wouldn't of had the level of support that we would have needed to make the birth so amazing. She also took some pretty beautiful pictures that captured the special moments. We cherish those photos and look at them frequently.

I'm approaching 5 years since the birth of my son, but I fondly recall my time with Jen as my doula throughout my pregnancy and during childbirth as a very positive experience. Jen was knowledgeable, and sincere in her involvement with me and I cherish the time we got to spend together. Anyone who has Jen in their corner while they encounter this memorable time in their lives should be honored.

We just had our first baby, it was a home water birth and Jen was our doula. She helped my husband and me stay calm, and grounded. We had an amazing birth experience, and she captured the beauty of the birth in her stunning photos. We highly recommend Jen, she is knowledgeable, experienced, and compassionate.

Despite preparing in every way we knew how, after a traumatizing first birth experience, we realized the need professional, experienced help to help us birth our second child. Jen was vital in helping us to have the empowered, intuitive, natural birth we were hoping for. She provided the perfect, tailored to my personality and goals resources, to help me prepare for labour in a new way. She provided alternate/additional counsel to help my partner and I make informed decisions in line with our values during pregnancy and labour, She prepared us each step of the way with what to expect from the traditional medical system, which allowed us to navigate the system to fit our values. She helped my husband be my main labour support person, showing him hands on techniques that were amazingly effective at reducing the pain of each contraction. My husband and I took Jennifer’s Birth in Confidence Prenatal Workshop several weeks before the birth of our daughter.With Jennifer’s help, we were able to have a better understanding of the birth and postpartum experience. Jennifer created an open and compassionate environment for us to ask all our questions.My husband and I both most appreciated the activities and learning exercises that Jennifer included in the workshop. As a first time parent, having Jen as our doula was one of the best pregnancy/birth decisions that we could have made! Jen was there to answer any of my anxious pregnancy-related questions and always offered reassurance and knowledgeable information to ease my nerves. During our birth, Jen provided such a calming presence and provided a ton of support for both myself and my fiance. I was prepared for the worst-case scenario with my birth and it honestly could not have gone any better; I truly believe that Jen played a huge role in our positive birth outcome. She also offered us lots of postpartum support and information which is super helpful when you're a first time parent. Jen is absolutely amazing, has a huge heart and is so passionate about pregnancy, birth and babies!! She went above and beyond to support and comfort me and our family during pregnancy, birth and postpartum and left so many wonderful memories of the experience! Whenever I had a question or concern she was always there for me, and showed genuine compassion and care. She was so encouraging, gentle natured, real and just wonderful. Jennifer came to our home a few days after our baby was born for a newborn photo shoot. Our baby was quite fussy but Jen was incredibly patient and kind and she was able to get a ton of really beautiful shots for us that will be a special keepsake. She also gave us lots of reassuring tips and advice. I would highly recommend her services and her expertise to anyone and everyone.
