I've trained with Burnaby Karate Academy's head instructor for 25 years & know first hand how dedicated & hardworking he is. Karate is his lifestyle & he takes great care in sharing all that he know with all his students from young white belts just starting out to his seasoned elite athletes competing on the international stage. I have no reservation recommending this school & enthusiastically encourage you to visit for yourself, your kids and loved ones.

This is the easiest review to write! My young kids have only been doing karate for 6 months but I can already see an improvement in their focus and fitness. The kids have a blast and I’m very happy with the quality of instruction

Sensei Sandeep is a great teacher and runs a well organized program. He balances structure with fun. The kids want to learn. He includes self-defence in the training which was really important to me. Some of the kids from the program even compete. The club has had national and international success.

Sensei Sandeep Gill is incredible at striking the balance between providing students with a nurturing learning environment that also promotes discipline and high calibre martial arts. Students leave each class not only with new athletic skills, but also lessons in respect and perseverance. Opportunities are provided for recreational karate, competition, and volunteerism.

My son has been a member of Burnaby Karate Academy for 10 years. He started at the age of six. We initially put him into Karate to keep a very active child busy. He has recieved top notch training from very experienced, knowledgeable, and above all very friendly Sensei's. Burnaby Karate Academy is one of the top Karate schools in Canada and has many Male and Female BC and National Champions. They put the same effort into recreational Karate as they do competition Karate.

We enrolled our daughter in Karate when she was 6 years old. She is now 20, Holder of a Black belt, teaches younger kids once a week, holder of numerous medals, has traveled to many places around the world representing Canada, BC and foremost her dojo (Burnaby Karate Academy). Great kid from the moment she was born but I strongly believe putting her into Karate at an early age helped her develop into the great human she is today. Discipline, Respect (both for her and towards others) and Confidence are some of the attributes I can think of that karate has helped develop with. Strongly recommend Burnaby Karate Academy.

I have known Sandeep sensei for many years. He is a kind and wonderful man. I am a dojo instructor myself, and I am very impressed with the quality of his students. He has been around for many years and is super knowledgeable about sport karate and competitions. He has many students who have made it to the Provincial, National, and International levels. That by itself shows the discipline and the hard work he has put in building his dojo. He is very easy to talk to with a great smile. Sensei Sandeep is a very experienced instructor and has the unique ability to connect with and inspire his younger students, while also maintaining an extremely high level for his elite athletes. Burnaby Karate Academy is a consistent force on the provincial, national, and international stage, while at the same time having a very welcoming and family-like atmosphere in the dojo.
