This is by far Kamloops greatest hidden gem. Great activity for the entire family, when everything else in town closes at 7pm! Just be warned that the “pup” exhibition is NOT CHILD FRIENDLY, it’s an explicit gay subculture that my grandchildren were not prepared for. Make sure to get dog treats for humans at the gift shop, the lard coated tennis ball flavour was outstanding-Kenjiro (Vancouver, BC)

I didnt know my life's purpose till I came here. I can't share my gratitude enough. This place is a transcendental solitude amidst a hailstorm of sorrow

Incredible spot! Took a chance and brought a date here, had loads of quirky things to check out, highly recommend. Staff was lovely. Might have to come back with friends or family when they visit.

I travelled from Australia to Canada and went through the town of Kamloops. This museum has something for everyone. From the first registered dog marriage license to caveman dog leashes, you won't leave disappointed.

Tried to give this 4.5 stars but Google wouldnt let me. Planned a family vacation to Kamloops and love dogs so decided the First National Dog Museum was a great place to start. The exhibits are great and there are a lot of breeds represented even if the pure-bred displays are mainly elitist. Things got interesting when we arrived at the end of the exhibit to the museum restaurant. On the menu for the day were hot dogs. I asked for mine with ketchup and relish. Needless to say these weren’t the type of “hot-dogs” I was expecting.TL:DRGreat place, staff is friendly. Food is “ruff”, may or may not have eaten dog.

Honestly I didn't know how good life could get before the helpful staff here serviced me fully to completion.

While the establishment has changed dramatically over the past year, there have been many updates. Paint, floors and the bathroom have all been renovated and the whole place is visibly more child friendly. I have made several visits with my dog and infant daughter and have found that the First National Dog Museum is always comfortable and welcoming. Lately there is a lack of dogs as they've moved more towards the feline exhibits (God only knows why)... However you'll find the overall experience is still that of high caliber. Decor, staff, and licensed drinks are always on point. 4.5/10 because of the cats.

Living three doors down from the First National Dig museum has proved to be the best decision I have ever made in my entire life. Day and night they are available to answer any questions I have about dogs large and small, new and old. Even when I knock on their door at 2:38 in the morning they provide me with everything I need. I mean everything.
