Port Huron Jiu Jitsu Academy

Absolutely excellent school for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The instructors are fantastic at teaching people of all ages. If you have any interest in martial Arts, BJJ, or just getting your body moving, I highly recommend checking out this academy. It'll change your life.

Excellent instructors and a great atmosphere, with students ranging anywhere from just starting out or casual, up to competing internationally. Great for keeping fit, learning a new skillset and, if you're up for it, competing in a sport with a rich martial history.

Whether you want to learn jiu jitsu for self defense, for competition, or even just for fun, this is the place to go. If you're worried about being intimidated because you're trying something new, you have nothing to worry about! Everybody, from the instructors to your fellow students, are incredibly welcoming and encourage you to always do your best. There are different classes based on your level of experience, so you can feel comfortable learning at the pace that suits you best. I can't recommend this place highly enough to anyone who may be interested in giving jiu jitsu a shot.

An amazing place to train! The studio is clean and well maintained, the instructors are loaded with knowledge from years of experience, and the other students are very friendly. Whether you want to learn self-defense or train for the sport, you should check out Port Huron BJJ.

The instructors create an easy going, low stress environment to learn and train. I would recommend this school to anybody interested in learning jiu jitsu or are already training.

I dropped in from out of town while visiting a friend. The head instructor was extremely hospitable and treated me like one of his own. The students treated me just as kind. I couldn't have asked for a better group to train with. Class structure was great, as were the techniques shown, and the rolls. Highly recommended, and I'd gladly call this my home gym if I was in the area. Hope to drop in again in the future.

I've been training quite some time and as far as gym's go if you're looking for quality BJJ in the area you can't go wrong with an Alliance affiliate school or any of the big name teams in BJJ. I'm working out of town from Louisiana so the way I go about searching(if I can get no recommendations from guys I know for the area) for that as to narrow my choices down for which schools will be good one's to visit with legit instruction of a high level is first I find the lineage of the instructor and make sure it is a path I can verify to known names and then look at their list of accomplishments in BJJ(Tournaments and the such and specifically big known regional to international grappling tournaments and specifically BJJ, any other grappling background is a plus as well. If I'm looking at for an mma gym I would include fight records in that criteria for my search). Well with those things checked off Paul and his students did not dissapoint. Very open and welcoming group as well as technically profecient at their received rank. A good number of Go getters among those guys. Guys that are chasing medals and advancement in their rank and beyond. This is the type of attitude I want to see when picking a school to train at because these things among the student body and instructor are what will guarantee a challenge and folks who will push me to get better while I train with them. If you're looking for a good place to train in the Port Huron area, this is it.

If you want to find out what you're made of try BJJ. If you want a fun atmosphere where egos aren't an issue this is the place. It's a very welcoming environment, no matter what level you are. Paul makes beginners or even guests from other academies feel welcomed. Even if you're not looking to compete it's fun and a great work out. The first class is free so what do you have to lose?
