Recently I had a pretty major health issue. The entire staff at NDCHC were incredible through it all. Speciifically Gaby (reception) , Anna (NP) and Dr. Arnott. I can't imagine what it would have been like without the 3 of them. I highly recommend North Dumfries Community Health Centre

Same day booking. You call at open and the lines are full. Finally get through after 6 calls. They're already booked for the day. Seniors seem to get priority. The NP Derek is judgy and condescending. I've only ever seen my actual real Doctor once.

The community center as a whole is great. The reception staff aren't the best... there are a couple who genuinely love helping others but there have been times where petty judgements and poor behavior has been an issue. The NP is very nice and caring. The doctor is also very patient and understanding. He will go above and beyond to help a client seek relief for injuries at the workplace. I have had some difficult times with the reception staff getting faxes acknowledged and you need to keep up on them. This is a new facility so they are still working on getting everything flowing perfectly.

Took six tries to get ahold of reception, and when we did, they put us on hold and hung up after about 3 minutes. When we did get ahold of them AGAIN, the lady seemed moody and like she didn’t care to talk to us. Finally she said we weren’t going to get in until June to see our own doctor…

Been going here for quite a few years now. However service has gone done significantly. The receptionist isn’t all that friendly, they will put you on hold and then hang up. It is absolutely impossible to get a same day appointment, then they will say the doctored are booking out till June. Ok well I have a health issue it concern now… I can’t wait till June.

My personal doctor and nurse are very kind but it’s EXTREMELY hard to get in to make an appointment. Was told 3 days in a row to call right at 8:30am. I did call the second day at 830am and again at 850, then once more at 930 and was told sorry booked up try again tomorrow at 830.Either a second receptionist needs to be available to answer those calls or a new system needs to be put in place. I don’t agree with the “first come first serve” appointment booking as there’s always a risk that someone might need to be looked at by a doctor for something more serious than a sore throat but won’t be able to get in.Also don’t agree with only same day bookings.Been trying to see my doctor all week now and now I’m headed to the walk in clinic.

I absolutely love this doctors office. The reception is always so friendly. Gabby always recognizes our faces and is just a delight. Derek is our NP and he’s very personable and friendly. Very thorough. Always willing to refer out to specialists if needed. Very good with my kids. They’re very good with childrens vaccinations, too. Theres never a wait in the waiting room. If there is it’s maybe 10 mins on a bad day. We saw Kelly with our first baby - she is amazing! So bubbly and good with the kids. So fun to talk to. Dr. Parker is lovely too. I’ve only met her once but she’s delightful. I love that you can get an appointment within a few weeks. With my previous doctor it was months to a year. Like I said, no wait times in the waiting room. With my previous doctor it was 1-3 hours waiting. I never feel rushed at my appointment. We can talk through the concern at length and there’s even time for small talk, too. At my previous doctors I always felt like I had to memorize what I wanted to tell him as concisely as possible or I wouldn’t get the chance to explain. I was rushed in and out and always left feeling uncared for.The only negative I’ve found is that they’ve seemed to have gotten busier recently. They used to have same day appointments if it was urgent enough or involving a child. But now you have to call right when they open to get in for the same day or you’re screwed. This leaves a lot of my care going to the hospital or a clinic instead if I can’t get in. Especially if it’s regarding my kids, I can’t just wait and try again the next morning.

Such a great team! Of course you need to be on a waiting list, they aren't a walk in clinic, they are a doctor's office. Friendly staff, and eager to be helpful.

Best clinic I've ever been to, but you need to have a relationship with a doctor, don't just try to walk in without contacting them first, ideally through a hospital or psychiatrist

You can never actually get in pretty much always told to call back the next day at 8:30 like you don’t have a life and work. The only receptionist with compassion is Gabby. What’s the point of running a doctors office when you can’t even take patients, they don’t even refer you to a place to go in case you need to see a doctor that day. Pathetic.
