Lamb meatball pasta was fantastic. Elk steak was great as well, although we had 2 orders, 1 medium rare and 1 medium well and both came well done. Risotto had excellent flavor but was very mushy. normally, risotto would be firm. Goat cheese phyllo was amazing. Great service from the waitstaff, although the main course took over an hour to arrive. Being on vacation, not a huge deal, but probably should have taken half the time. I'd definitely recommend Island if it's a bit less busy. Seems the kitchen may not be able to handle a full house.

Been coming here with my family for years but today I saw beef goulash and had to try it. Wow. Apperently, it's Sylvester's Hungarian family recipe and it was amazing. He was kinda possessive with the recipe but I won't fault him for that. Always a great place to stop for a well put together meal, great service and a really nice spot.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Island Restaurant. It is in a great spot in Golden and the patio offers great views of the surrounding mountains.Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu. The pakora appetizer was incredible and unlike anything we have ever had. The elk rissole was out of this world and was a dish that certainly draw us back to the restaurant in the future. The drinks were also incredibly well priced (my beer was only $5 for a local craft beer).We absolutely loved our dinner here and look forward to returning again someday.

Yummy mexican food. Savory beans. Rice was a touch dry, but the meat was delicious as was the tortilla soup. First time I've had one that wasn't chicken based. Was tasty. Margarita was a good deal, and local beer on tap. Nice gateway to golden. Beautiful views from the deck. Hope to return.

Had to wait a long time for food to arrive. The steak sandwich asked for medium and got blue, they took it back (steak only) to the chef it came back rare. The fries were terrible all pieces of fried over and over again unedible pieces. Fried onions were mush. We went about 5 years ago and it was good. Must have had a management change or something. To bad it is a lovely place just on the river. Won't go back and won't recommend.

In short, would recommend. Elk Rissole delicious, Pork Ribs take a pass. Order a cocktail.Came here with my fiancée for a nice dinner on a ski weekend Saturday. We were able to be seated right away and the food came out reasonable quickly. I ordered the Elk Rissole and she had the Pork ribs.I have had the Elk Rissole here before and I loved it both times. The spatzle is a nice complement to the meal I don't often see on a menu. Everything comes together deliciously. Definitely recommend.In regards to the Pork Ribs the recommendation falls flat. The veggies and rosti potatoe were quite good as well as the sauce on the ribs but the meal itself was not cooked well. Very tough to cut the ribs apart and the meat was tough. Would not recommend ordering the ribs because of this.Overall I have come here multiple times and have always had a good dining experience. We didn't partake in their drink menu this visit but there has some good options there for mixed martinis, cocktails, and other misc drinks. Would definitely recommend this restaurant when in Golden.

We landed up in this restaurant by pure luck. To our surprise, the restaurant has great atmosphere, nest customer friendly employees who had great knowledge about menu items, they are able to tell specialty about all beer items. This is a must visiting place for lunch.

Perfect food. Nice staff. You can sit on the patio which is great.Eggs benedict were delicious.
