Cedardale Camping & Seasonal Resort

We were seasonal 2019-2021 here and had a park model overlooking the water. I highly recommend staying far far away from being seasonal at Cedardale or any other Killam properties. Transients seem to get better service and attention but even they have issues as you can see when you check low ratings. The property is run down, neglected, constant hydro outages and constant running water outages and boil water alerts, sewage spills, and numerous other safety issues. Local management and Killam head office do not care, there was never a manager around and when you called to inquire about any issue, the manager said “ if you don’t like it, sell it and leave” . The first manager was always there in 2019 but Killam fired him in July, 2019 and the managers that came in after him were never there, and did the bare minimum. In fact they did the bare minimum because they received a bonus for being under budget. And when you sell Killam takes 8% of purchase price so they dont care if you sell, in fact they rather make 8% and hope the new seasonals dont complain. And if the new seasonals aren’t happy, they can sell and Killam makes another 8% . Of the 9 waterfront properties, 6 sold in one year! 2 were not able to sell due to age of the park model and the other was iffy.

Nice location by the beach, we were lucky to get a spot by their nature pond which was amazing, spacious and relaxing. 45mim drive from Sandbanks, close to downtown Brighton where you can get groceries. Overall great customer service, location and structure. Only and main thing that needs improvement is their 'washroom' - it needs some deep cleaning and painting.If that was in place I'd have given them my 5 starts.

They discrimine against certain breeds of dogs if you look in their description. They also don’t clarify online that you are not allowed dogs in the cabin. They called the police after me video taping them being unprofessional lying to them about how they “ kicked “ us out and they didn’t, they just told us to keep our dog outside in plus 32 weather. I have it all on video. They had us removed from the premises and kept all our money. We had people from the campground come to us and apologize for the new management behaviour and even offered to take our dog since you’re allowed dogs further down. But unfortunately the two ladies were on a power trip until I started recording. Also as we were packing we found black mould everywhere and took videos and pictures.

Very nice campground. When I booked I never noticed they didn't have a boat launch since I normally go to fish. Really didn't bother me. Beautiful tent site sheltered by the trees, 30 feet to the showers and the washroom. Nice beach, pool and a friendly staff. I'd definitely go back.

So disappointed today. I take my 2 older aunts camping every summer. We like to try smaller, private campgrounds rather than provincial parks. We arrived today and the 2 women in the office were lovely! Friendly and accommodating. We asked to look at their transient/overnight sited and the beach. She gave us a map and let us go!!!Until we met a very unfriendly woman on a golf cart in an orange vest. Obviously staff. She pointed out the 2 sites and drove off. We looked and then started for the beach. Completely got lost. Many Friendly people gave us directions. As we finally arrived at the beach, orange shirt lady is waving her arms in the air. You can't just drive around this park

We love Cedardale, the sandy bottom water, the friendly people, we always enjoy our summer getaway there. My only suggestion is that they put encasements on the beds so nothing ever gets in or out! It's a must for hotels and rentals of any kind! I never want to worry about that after a stay. We wash/dry bedding/towels after but it should be completely encased to avoid any issues going home. Just something I noticed. Prevention is key! I hope to see that the beds are covered not just on top, encasements!!

Nice area... tent sites too close together. Not very private.... very small beach area.

This was a great campground for the kids they had a wonderful time. They played volleyball, went swimming in the pool that was heated well, it was cold and wet weekend so it was great that they turned up the heater for the pool. The staff and campers were very friendly.

I booked a cabin online and paid in advance to visit a friend there, they called and told me that the manager would not entertain a 1 night stay even though I booked it through their website with no issue. No compromise was offered by the manager other than an absolute no on the reservation I made. The poor person on the phone who had to tell me that my weekend plans would be ruined was very apologetic for the inconvenience and polite however the lack of compromise through the manager who delegated the bad news to an employee instead of calling me to explain the situation is deserving of 1 star.Long story short, cabins are a 2 night stay regardless of what their booking software allows.

I'm seasonal and I love the park. The people are wonderful and welcoming and the beach is great!
