Grew up loving animation and this is the place to nurture that creativity.

Absolutely love it here! I never had a clue about animation before this and the learning and voice recording I've been doing here is such a wonderful experience!

I'd highly reccommend this place. I recently spoke on the phone with Tyler about looking for an animator for our short film, and he was very helpful in finding one for us, even tho it was not going to benefit there animation society directly, which I really appreciated. It's nice to know that there is businesses like this one that are trying to help people. Aside from that I was told about this place by CSIF and everyone else I've heard who have been associated with them has had nothing but compliments to say. Thanks again Quick Draw, you will for sure hear from us again.

I took the Animation Fundamentals 12-week course, and after finishing it, I couldn't recommend it enough!I came into it as a total beginner. It doesn't really matter if you don't have a lot of experience with detailed drawings. The focus is building the foundations for motion using simple shapes, cutouts, replacement animation, etc.I had Ryan Von Hagen as my instructor, and he was fantastic. He really knows his stuff and knows how to keep you engaged in the material with some very cool archival examples and sitting down one to one with each student to help everyone nail down what they're trying to accomplish on each project.I had a blast! There's a ton of material to cover in a short time frame, but if you are seriously interested in traditional or even 3D animation, you will come out much better for it.There's also a great sense of community here and QuickDraw does a lot to support the arts in Calgary and holding events and partnerships like the Studio Ghibli screenings currently running through Globe theater at the time of writing.

A great resource for newbie and intermediate level animators. They have affordable classes, workspaces, and hold a yearly indie animation festival (GIRAF). A gem for the city and the greater animation community.
