Rubes’ food and menu has changed. I always loved going to sit and eat a delicious meal by the fire in a quaint atmosphere. Enjoy a martini or 2. Tonight…absolutely the worst $19,(not top shelf alcohol btw) martini I’ve ever had. Spicy olives and olive juice in a martini without requesting that?? Since when doesn’t a restaurant have regular olives?? Complaining to the waiter that I didn’t ask for hot olives or juice, I was told,” We don’t have regular olives “. Huh??? Then to charge me for it??? No more Montecarlo potato on the menu so the choice with steak (unseasoned but albeit well cooked), is rice pilaf or fries. Now get this…SPICY PILAF!! Huh?? Wait… there were spicy olives in the caesar salad too!! Sale on spicy olives or something?? Weird and very expensive night for 2 Sirloin steaks, no coffee, no dessert, and a bottle of Capolo wine =$260 with tip. Won’t be visiting again.. sadly I have an ulcer now.

We stopped by randomly since we were going from Voyageur park back to Montreal and this restaurant was right in the middle. We did not have high expectations judging by the location, there is not much around there, but we were wrong!This place was amazing!!Food:We got a mushroom puff pasty appetizer to share for 2 people, it was a small appetizer, barely 2 bites each, but it was DELICIOUS, highly recommend it if they still have it on the menu. For the main course I got the seafood with rice, it was tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. But what was heavenly was the cabbage salad that it came with, i am not a big fan of cabbage but that salad was just something else, I didn't even realize it was cabbage until I asked the waiter at the end. My partner got a fillet mignon cheeseburger, which was very simple, just cheese and meat, but it was HEAVENLY. They used good ingredients, every bit would just melt in your mouth, highly recommend.Service and ambience:The service was good. The waiters were attentive, bilingual, polite and even dressed quiet well making the place seem fancy. The ambience was alright, it was clean and the bathrooms were clean as well.Tldr; if you are around there and have time to sit and enjoy your food, i would highly recommend. If I am every close by, I would definitely go again.

We've been going to Rube for many years. Delicious food, generous portions, excellent service, and very reasonable prices. I had the grilled cod and shrimp limoncello on linguine. The fish and shrimps were perfectly cooked. The calamari and oyster mushrooms starter were wonderful.

Three years living in the area, first time at Restaurant Rube. Won't be the last. 5 stars for food, service and ambiance. A really enjoyable evening. Already looking forward to returning.

Was very impressed with our experience. We went with friends and family and enjoyed an amazing meal. Food was excellent. Staff were kind.The live music from Eva Veli was a total joy as well.

I had a lobster wrap here, and it did feature a good amount of lobster. The cod is also very enjoyable. Great service. This place gives a consistenly satisfying experience every time I visit. Soups could be less salty.

Cozy little nook! Enjoyed a nice cozy dinner by a fire listening to live music. Food was delicious and well priced. Waiter made a mistake with the beer order and quickly corrected it, very kind staff, a true gem if you’re in the area.

What a super place and ambience! Invited to sing at this place and was so delighted and surprised at such a fantastic feedback and vibe! My friends who came raved about the food too! The crowd was enjoying the music and on fire! Hope to be invited to come back again soon!xoxo
