Cindy and Heiko are amazing people! They were really helpful with tips about Twillingate and organized a boat tour for us. Their breakfast is excellent! Also a big plus: they are not only pet friendly, they are pet lovers! Our little Travis felt home right away. Thank you for this great stay!

Cindy & Heiko are wonderful hosts! The room was nice and comfortable, they did everything to make us feel at home. Breakfast was very tasty. We got a lot of information and recommendations about things to do in the area.

My wife and I were extremely disappointed with this B&B. Our room was very dirty - there was a long dark hair in our bathroom sink when we arrived, dirt all around the shower and on the electric heater in the bathroom. The curtains were badly torn, and the tears in the comforter were patched with black tape. The hosts nagged us several times to be paid (in cash since their debit machine was 'on order') and seemed paranoid that we were going to drive away with our room key. When we travel, we are well aware that accommodations will vary, and we are totally prepared for and accepting of that. We are fine with aged furniture, or faded carpets. However, sleeping in a clean bed, in a room that has had a thorough cleaning, is an absolute must. That was not the case with Rum Runners. The location is great - within walking distance of restaurants and the NWI Dinner Theatre. However, a return visit is very unlikely for us because we simply don't sleep when we don't feel comfortable in our surroundings. Had there been other accommodations available for the two nights we were in Twillingate, we would not have stayed here.

We only stayed one night at Twillingate earlier this month. I found this place probably on Google while searching for pet friendly accommodation. To our surprise, the owners are retired seniors! We felt their warmth welcome right away and they gave great reference on the restaurant where we truly enjoyed. One detail I could say Cindy is different, she called us before we got a chance to call them (I usually would call if we expect a late check-in) and told us to take our time to enjoy. We Chinese people have a tradition to respect the seniors and care for the children. It made us a bit uncomfortable seeing Heiko got up early making breakfast for us. I guess he did that out of love to his wife Cindy so she didn't have to drive from home to their B&B so early in the morning. They are the most interesting couple I have met during my trips. Purely unexpected. They have many fascinating life stories to share. Unfortunately we couldn't do much exchange during our brief stay.Their place is clean. Their breakfast menu is full and we were offered different local bread. It is true some furniture or deco may seem old, but in my eye that is the charm of the place. If you are a good observer, you shall see the attention they put in some details. They told us that they intended to expand and upgrade their B&B with their own capable hands. We wish them the best for their future adventures!

We were 2 weeks in beautiful Newfoundland. The only negative was our stay at this property. I can be tolerant often on condition of property ,but rate reception and warmth most essential. As noted by our travelling friends earlier, I did not feel welcomed and the exchange at breakfast to my wife was when she asked for decaf coffee was rude and condescendingCustomer service and outreach should be a focus from henceforth

Our stay in Twillingate was highlighted by staying here. Cindy was the most wonderful host as was Heiko who is a wealth of knowledge. They served us a fantastic breakfast of eggs, pancakes, French toast among other choices (**Cindy’s homemade blueberry and Partridge berry jam was fantastic and Heiko is a fantastic cook) and allowed us to use the kitchen at any time to cook our own meals if needed. We were able to walk across the road and look over at icebergs at the entrance to the harbour. There is a couple of fantastic restaurants walking distance as well as a grocery store just up the road. The room was clean well equipped and left nothing to be desired. They are dog friendly. We would highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back and stay here.

Cindy and Heiko are absolutely lovely people and very helpful. The room was nice and clean. Breakfast was delicious and Cindy made homemade dog treats for my Monster Yogi Bear. They are pet friendly and we loved our stay!

Recently we spent two nights at this quaint B&B in Twillingate. We only travel with our dogs and sometimes it is hard to find places to stay that accept dogs. Cindy and Heiko not only accept dogs - they love them! Koal and Tucker are missing you already. Your insurance that we were comfortable was much appreciated and the breakfast and your compnay was enjoyed by all four of us!

We had a wonderful stay with Heiko and Cindy! We had stayed one night in Twillingate at a different BNB and decided we wanted to stay another night, however, the BNB we were at had no vacancies. We called the Rum Runner that morning and spoke with Heiko who told us they could help us out! The house is 105 years old and, while undergoing a few renovations throughout while we were there, is just beautiful! Lots of little trinkets around the house to browse over as well as local art work on the walls. We stayed in bedroom #3 with a queen bed, shower, TV and cable, and an ocean view out our window. There was some construction going on in the next lot over but really, we were gone from the room most of the day so it did not bother us at all. Heiko gave great recommendations for food to try as well as some information we may not have otherwise known about the trails at the Cow Head lighthouse. We were served a delicious, made to order breakfast (cooked by Heiko himself!) even though breakfast is 7-10 AM and I believe we sauntered downstairs around 5 after 10. Cindy is an absolute sweetheart and very informative about some of the history of Twillingate and Newfoundland in general. She had homemade jams (rhubarb and berry) made from rhubarb from her garden and local picked berries, as well as rye bread baked by one of her friends. We had a nice chat about their schooner and sailing past (we need to go back once it's shipped in!) while we finished up our coffees. They are such a charming, welcoming, down to earth couple and we would be pleased to stay with them again the next time we find ourselves in Twillingate!

Excellent hospitality and engaging conversation with the caring, well travelled, knowledgable, retired owners. Rooms are confortable, albeit a bit of a tight squeeze in the bathroom for my big frame. Hosts are very accomodating and are putting the effort to upgrade as their time permits. I would be happy to stay here again on my next trip to beautiful Twillingate.
