Having Carissa as our Doula made such a big positive impact on our overall birthing experience, I wouldn't change having her with us for the world!I had my daughter at 42+2 and I don't think I would have been able to be this patient if it wasn't for her and I'll be eternally grateful for that.As first-time parents, we were very unsure about a lot of things, but Carissa helped us make our own informed decisions and be confident in them. During labour, she somehow managed to let us do our own thing while giving us the strength and confidence to do so. My husband and I both agree that we would have been much more panicked and unsure if it wasn't for Carissa.I will also never forget her postpartum visit where she gave us the greatest gift new parents could ask for: a guilt-free much-needed nap. She may not know the impact this had, but that was the first proper relaxed sleep we both got since Kiana was born and came at a time when we were both hanging by a thread. Thank you for everything ❤️

If you are pregnant you need Carissa in your life! I wasn’t exactly sure how we would benefit from a doula but heard only good things and let me tell you, if going through the birthing process you absolutely need a doula, and Carissa is top notch. She was with us almost through the entire labor process and I could not have done it without her. She is so supportive and knowledgeable about the birthing process but also just a genuinely amazing person to have around during probably one of the hardest things Ive ever done. Do yourself a favour and hire Carissa as your Doula, you will not be disappointed!

We are extremely grateful to have had Carissa as our doula for the birth of our first child. Her knowledge and calming energy left us feeling grounded, empowered and supported throughout the whole process, especially when things got intense during labour. We honestly don’t know how we could have done it without her and as such, can’t recommend her enough!

Carissa was a phenomenal Doula. She came shortly after I was admitted to the hospital. Was an amazing support person, I had my husband but he had never been through this birthing business before. Carissa provides support and techniques to help manage pain. If I have another child I would definitely choose Carissa to be my doula again.I had a rough birth but she made it feel more comfortable. During the period I had to wait in labour and delivery she stayed with me while my baby was in the NICU with my husband. She advocates for you and helps you make good decisions.She is definitely someone you would want in your birthing room.Highly recommend her ❤️

Carissa is an amazing doula. She brings the most lovely combination of a spiritual and intuitive presence combined with a wealth of technical knowledge about birth and the birthing space. She is an excellent source of evidence-based research and presents multiple viewpoints. She is also an advocate of physiological birth, informed consent, and autonomy in birthing decisions. Advocating for the birth that I wanted was a difficult process amidst pressure from the medical system to go a different route. Carissa was my rock, she attended beautifully to the emotional and physical needs of both myself and my husband, all the while fearlessly protecting my wishes and continually reminding me of my right to consent and choice. My birth would not have been the same without her. I would definitely recommend hiring Carissa as your doula.

To say Carissa an excellent Doula is an understatement. My husband and I started looking into Doula services when my midwife mentioned it would be of great help to her in the birthing process. Carissa came highly recommended and did not disappoint. From out first pre-birth consultation Carissa came prepaired with a calm energy, great questions for us, and tools to make the big day go smoother. When I went into labour, I had the confidence and knowledge to be able to gage when it was necessary to go to the hospital, which allowed me more time at home and out of the hospital during covid times. For the time I was in the hospital, I was impressed and relieved when she was confidently able to jump in and suggest new positions or hands on pain relief for me. My husband in particular felt I was supported best with her trusty care, and felt equally involved. Whenever he gapped at what to do Carissa was right there to support both of us with a calm air of kindness and professionalism. Her nurturing qualities helped me to feel supported and calm during a very vulnerable and emotional time. Her and my midwife got along really well, and she was a wonderful assist to her during the whole birth. The post partum visits where immensely valuable to me - as something I wouldn't know I needed. Carissa let me ramble on about every little thing and listened, hearing everything I was experiencing giving gentle kind support, when I had questions, if she didn't know she would research and get back to me. I would highly recommend Carissa as a Doula and strongly encourage her post partum visits, our whole family was better for this experience.

Carissa was my birth support when I was pregnant with my twin boys. The moment we were brought to our room after c-section delivery I felt my anxiety melt away.She was the support circle that encompassed my entire family. She stayed with my husband and I into the late hours of the night and was by my side for absolutely everything we needed. She answered every question with warmth, understanding and intelligence.She was there for my family the day we came home from the hospital, which was an incredibly emotional day, but her calm and soothing presence was the perfect transition into the “fourth trimester”Birth is such a unique life changing experience and to have Carissa’s support from pregnancy, birth and the weeks following, made our journey that much more magical.I highly recommend having a doula and would encourage anyone having a baby to explore that option. Carissa is the best of the best.

My husband and I had the fortune of having Carissa as our doula during my second birth. Carissa made us feel so safe and supported before and during my labour, and continued to give us such valuable and thoughtful support postpartum.Carissa has an incredible intuition as a doula, allowing her to quickly understand what kind of physical and emotional support is needed without having to be asked. She held my hips during contractions in a way that really eased my pain, gave me little reminders and encouragement when I needed it most, and served as a strong advocate for mine and my parters’ needs. I feel that her, my husband and I truly made a wonderful team that has allowed me to look back at my labour with positivity and pride. We all adapted to some challenging and unexpected circumstances and Carissa was an integral part of helping me keep the core elements of my birth plan/desires despite those circumstances.Carissa has also supported us postpartum with endless love and care. From caring after our newborn to allow my husband and I to nap during a postpartum visit, to proving constant support during an unexpected hospital stay, Carissa again provided us with what we needed the most during our most challenging moments. She was truly meant for birth work and would be an amazing asset to anyone’s birth.

Carissa is a highly recommended Doula that I was to consult and meet with before we made our final decision on a birth attendant. Although we initially met virtually, her depth of care, wealth of knowledge and incredible warmth was felt and appreciated! During a sensitive time in which I was feeling adrift with the medical care I was receiving, Carissa gave me incredible support and invaluable confidence I carried through my pregnancy journey. It was one of the first times I felt heard and that my values aligned with an experienced professional. Thank you Carissa for making a lasting positive impression!

Carissa felt like family to my husband Josh and I right from the start. She was incredibly easy to talk to and very intuitive. She has a very calming presence that will soothe any fears or anxieties you may have. We hired Carissa early on in our pregnancy because we didn't have any family nearby and wanted someone who could help support us and connect us to the local community. We had regular check-ins with her that made us feel like we knew her even better by the time our baby was ready to enter the world. She was always accessible by text for any questions or concerns that popped up for us. She was the best advocate we could have asked for and walked us through all of our options and what they meant during pregnancy and beyond. There was no question she couldn't help us answer and if we wanted additional information she had a large community of doulas to ask! She also had unlimited resources for us to read through, which we found very helpful since we are both very data-driven people. It was so nice to have someone who is so up-to-date in the birth space instead of only relying on family and friends who all seemed to have different advice and opinions, which was overwhelming at times. We also had midwife appointments that were wonderful, but sometimes we would still come away with questions or want to talk through what they had offered us and Carissa was always there to do that.The day of the birth Carissa was incredibly supportive and calm. I gave birth at home and I felt no fear due to her amazing ability to remind me I was safe and doing an amazing thing! We would highly recommend working with Carissa if you want to feel really taken care of during your whole pregnancy mentally and physically. She also makes a mean soup during her postpartum visit :) We have nothing but immense love and gratitude for this wonderful doula <3
