House of Knives - Victoria, Mayfair

Refused to provide sharpening services. Was told the manager had stopped their sharpening services as they have a week and a half backlog. I stated a couple week wait was fine but they didn’t want to hear it. We had called before we made the trip out to the store (knives came down from up island).I had 2 complimentary sharpening coupons after making the knife purchase at the store, shame I will never get to use them. I’m sure there are plenty of small businesses that appreciate new clients, unlike this store.

Ryan was a great help at helping us find a missing kitchen knife. Was giving us demonstrations and being very helpful. Knives were a bit expensive but that is to be expected for high quality. Gave us a lot of options to choose from. Definitely shopping from here again.

Wow! These guys know their stuff. Went in to look at pocket knives as I heard they were going to be getting some new knives in soon. As a bit of a knife nerd I have been visiting the two stores in town for a few years to occasionally check in and see whats new. This is the first visit that has made me want to write a review. Sometimes in the past I've noticed that management seemed a little lax or the staff was a bit apathetic or just generally lacking in knowledge. I'm pleasantly surprised and happy to report that this seems to be a thing of the past. On my last visit I was helped by a guy (pretty sure his name was Jesse), and not only was he attentive and very knowledgeable, but I was happy to find he was also a knife nerd! What is usually just a 5 minute visit and browse for me turned into a 45 minute vibe over the knives and a good chat about our regular carries. I hope this guy is the manager and sticks around because I've never felt more welcomed or had a more pleasant experience at house of knives before. You did good finding this one house of knives. Thanks for the stellar experience.

Worst store ever. I brought back the CRKT Ripple knife that my girlfriend bought for me for $142 (one of my most prized possessions) because I thought maybe they would like the opportunity to get me a replacement part, since the screws had come loose a few months after my purchase and it had lost some ball bearings from it's pivot. The young, long-haired, bearded fellow told me that I had bent my knife by using it as a pry-bar, and preceded to demonstrate what using it as a pry-bar" meant by doing it on the counter. He said that they did not cover damage done by abuse. I asked him to examine the knife closely and pointed out that it was only missing ball bearings and was more loose than anything

My shopping experience was amazing especially because Divya was so helpful and knowledgable on purchasing my vegetable cleaver. I'll definitely be back having the confidence that I'll be in good hands with Divya at the helm. Thank you!

Just purchased the Kori Artisan chefs knife. I ordered it on line for delivery which was a breeze and only took a few days to come!I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase!This knife is not only beautiful , it is a pleasure to use! it is perfectly balanced and weighted together with bieng wonderfully sharp, making it effortless to use. The handle is the perfect size and grip not to mention the beautiful mosaic and end cap embellishments. The blade! So sharp! Fine enough to slice paper thin, hearty enough for all other slicing and dicing. best of all, nothing seems to stick!I was looking for a good quality Damascus knife as a gift to my sister. Loved it so much, I bought one for myself as well! Thank you Andre and the House of Knives! This knife is a work of art with high quality performance and functionality! I use it with pride! Now, I am looking forward to completing the set!

I had a great experience yesterday while visiting this business. I had two kitchen knives to sharpen but I also had never taken a good look at higher quality knives to see how the quality compares. Bikram greeted me warmly when I walked on and she explained that she was just finishing helping a customer and she would be right over to help me soon. She handled my initial request and answered all of my questions about several kitchen knives available in her store. She smiled often and made me feel very welcome in the store. She had my knives sharpened a bit sooner than the normal delivery time, which I really appreciated. She gave me lots of great info and tips on how to use, clean and maintain knives. I really appreciated her professional and friendly service. Please share my thanks with her.

I attended a knife skills workshop.... it was mostly to sell knives but the demonstrator was knowledgeable, helpful and it was great fun to go up and demonstrate ....even if I did things wrong... great thing to do... great little freebee" at the end as well. I hope they have more ... thank you.."

Had a positive shopping experience here. Though I knew what item I needed, I did not know the specifics. The staff member was very helpful in explaining the difference in products, not pushing the most expensive, but showing me what I actually needed and checking that it was compatible with my other product. Good customer service.
