Hillside Chevrolet Buick GMC

This was the third time in a month I was there for the same issue. First time I went, I said there are two issues. They found one and not the other and charged me $60 for not finding the second issue. Take it back there - time #2 - didn’t fix it, just looked at it again. Third time back issue fixed - would you like it washed? Sure. Got in it - still dirty. All of these trips mean I have left work, gotten someone to pick me up and then gotten someone to drop me off there to pick my truck up. The amount of inconvenience PLUS charging me for an issue they didn’t find - not ideal. And my truck is still dirty. Savannah in the service department is why the score is a 3. She’s fantastic.

Appreciated the ease of booking the appointment, the drop off experience, and the car wash. The fact that my drop off time was 1:00 PM and checking back at the time they thought it would be done to find it hadn't been started, not so much appreciated. Living 30 minutes away leaves me with either wasting the afternoon waiting in town or doing a double trip. Required parts are not available anywhere in the world so looks like a return visit might be in my future.

We were visiting from out of Province when I blew a wheel bearing. I called and was asked to bring my truck in. Within 3 hours the truck was fixed and we were back on the road. Absolutely outstanding service.

Very friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived. I had an engine light come on. Without an appointment the folks at Hillside diagnosed the issue and ensured that the car was safe to drive and booked me in to fix it. I arrived early on the appointment day and again the folks at Hillside were very friendly and helpful. They addressed all the main issues however, had to order a part. Again, The Hillside folks wanted to ensure I knew up front the cost involved so that I had no financial surprises. Excellent caring service.

I paid almost $140 to have my summer tires put on my car on June 28th. I waited close to 3.5 hours for this to be completed. Before I even left the parking lot, they had to put air in my front passenger tire. The next morning, I’m leaving for work and my tire is flat. Come to find out that the tire was not sealed on the rim and they should have known this, based on my tire needing air before leaving their parking lot. Had it not been a “slow” leak, my tire could have blown during my commute home in rush-hour traffic. This would have been disastrous and traumatic - not only for myself, but for any other drivers this accident would have impacted.I called on June 29th and asked them to look at the tire. Upon arrival, I was told that it may not be looked at until the following day (June 30th) due to their busy schedule. Staff looked at the tire and said that it was likely that the tire was not sealed properly.I missed an afternoon of work to get my tires put on (28th) and the following morning (29th) as well due to the flat tire - 9 hours total. I do not work in the Charlottetown area and upon stating this, the shuttle service was not offered. I decided to take the tire elsewhere for immediate service around 11 am. The staff proceeded to tell me that they did not say it wouldn’t be until next day before they could service my tire and that it would be ready by 4:30 pm. So not only did they imply that I was being untruthful, this would have meant that I would have to return at 4:30 pm and then wait again for the tire to be mounted onto my vehicle.I ended up paying extra elsewhere to have the tire put on the rim properly and mounted to my vehicle. It took 10 minutes.I will never take my car here for tire maintenance in the future and I am strongly considering having all future service maintenance completed by Township in Summerside.

While on PEI for 2 months for work, I had an oil change done at a local garage that I trust. The mechanic informed me that my left front axle boot was split and had emptied its contents of grease all over the bottom of the engine and chassis. I was due to drive home to Western Canada at the end of the month and did not want to make that journey needing this repair. I contacted Randy, the service manager at Hillsides and explained the situation to him. I said I understood that normal procedure would be for me to bring my 2021 Canyon in for them to personally diagnose the problem before a part is ordered. However, given my timeline, I could only take the time to make one trip to Charlottetown for this. Randy acknowledged my constraints, accepted the diagnosis of my local garage and we set up an appointment as soon as possible. I brought my truck to Hillsides on Friday June 23 at 3pm. I was barely back to the dealership after a stroll to get something to eat when they brought my truck back in from the shop, all fixed under warranty. Much appreciation for working with me on this!
