Brushworks Statue Restoration (Ottawa)

I am pretty sure there are a few people that are a wee bit clumsy just like me. There might be some that have broken something that has sentimental value, look no farther. I brought a sports trophy of my daughters that I had broke. I went to a trophy shop with it and no luck, they told me it was irreparable. It is top heavy made of plaster, sort of a one of a kind, certainly sentimental type thing. Not only did Brushworks fix it and do an amazing job, but even gave it more support for the top. I now have them on speed dial as i am clumsy and they are that good.

Beautiful restoration of a Louis Cyr statue which was done in a very short period of time and with great attention to detail and preserving the integrity of the piece. Steve and Pauline are very skilled and their personable service is much appreciated.

I have known Pauline and Steve for a good number of years and have seen their work first hand. They did restoration work for our 1932 Bavarian oak hand carved Crucifix from Oberammergau and then were commissioned for the recent work of repairing and painting of our marble statues. Magnificent, as a word, does not do justice to describe the work done. So many people have commented on the 'life-likeness' of the painting and the skill of the detail. A statue my grandfather had sculpted was chipped in several places during a move and subsequent vacuuming accident. As a result of both incidents, there were several small chips and one larger chunk missing from the statue. Given the sculpture's intricacy, I was worried that it would look like it had been 'fixed', but I could not have been more wrong. The piece was restored to its original beauty and the work was seamless. It is obvious that Pauline and Steve are not only very good at what they do but they also care about the pieces they are restoring. Very happy with the piece and the entire process.

I needed to find a truly faithful Catholic statue restorer for my Immaculate Conception statue (5.5m in height) because I was not willing to entrust this work to anyone who did not have the utmost love and respect for Our Lord or His mother.After months of searching and prayer, I was blessed to find Brushwork Statue Restoration in Ottawa. I knew this was going to add considerable cost to the project as we were going to have to ship the statue across Canada and back, but I was certain it would be worth it.I found not one but two wonderful statue curators, Steve and Pauline who make a great family team. Steve would be in charge sculpting the modifications that needed to be done and surface preparation for painting, and Pauline would be doing the complete painting of the modified areas and the overall paint restoration of the statue, which was long past due.It was a great experience working with Steve and Pauline. Despite their heavy workload, they were willing to accept my statue and fit it into their existing load. We communicated throughout the project and Steve and Pauline kept me up to date with the progress of their work. They were also very helpful with the logistics of the statue in receiving and shipping it as well as protecting and storing its very large crate.Steve and Pauline did excellent and beautiful jobs with the modifications and final painting of my statue, restoring not only its beauty, but also the dignity and reverence that all images of Our Lady deserve. If I ever have another statue restoration job to be done, I would not hesitate to call on Steve and Pauline again.

Brushwork Statue Restoration saved our mother's beloved four foot tall Saint Joseph statue. She was adamant that only someone capable of bringing him back to his original glory, without changing his look would touch him. She would rather he remain broken than risk a failed attempt. When we heard about Pauline and Steve she was hesitant, as with all the other restorers she researched. We watched their videos, read their reviews and debated before we finally wrote to them. They were kind, confident and extremely knowledgeable with a long trail of successful repairs to prove their talent. Finally we had hope on a beautiful repair being successful, and they certainly did not disappoint!Not only did these skilled masters absolutely flawlessly attach the hand and fix fingers but perfectly matched it's colouring and detail to match the other hand. They also fixed chips and flaws to the point that they cannot even be found! In examining the piece, Pauline and Steve could tell the base was now the wrong shade of green and offered to restore it to the original muted green that matched the ground on which Saint Joseph stands.Forty years the hand was detached and waiting. There is no doubt that it was worth the wait. These are the ONLY people my mother had trusted to do it right. Their work is truly breath taking!Pauline and Steve are truly gifted. With their God given talents they create seemingly impossible repairs that are flawless and stunning. They are also the sweetest people, that have passion in their ministry. They went above beyond to ensure they understood our vision, explained exactly what they could do and ensured we were comfortable with the repair.. and the results are incredible!!If you have a treasured piece, have no fear in contacting them. A large, beautiful statue of the Infant of Prague fell from a high place in our office, and sadly smashed to pieces. Steve and Pauline did a fantastic job restoring a substantially damaged bas relief I had acquired. I was worried the piece was too damaged to substantially restore and it became even more damaged after shipping.
