My Own Sailboat
My wife and I did an ASA combo course with Mike. He's a fantastic teacher and sailor. He tailors his teaching to varying experience levels, and has the knack for making the complex seem simple. Highly recommend!

Captain Mike is like the sailors Miyagi. “Fair winds and following seas”. He repeats daily. A common sailors mantra that seems to have permeated his being. He moves and speaks with ease letting nature take its course with out complaint or criticism. And when the winds kick up so does captain Mike. A smile widens and he says, “turn on the music!” We are sailing.

My Own Sailboat
I had a couple of weeks off on short notice, reached out to Mike to see if he had availability, and he reworked his schedule to accommodate a GREAT Basic Sailing Course for me. Mike has a great approach to tutoring his students, giving hands on training and building up their knowledge, skills, and more importantly their confidence, to let them be the skipper for the day by end of the course. Great conversation, great learning-by-doing, and just a great skipper to learn from. Well done Mike - looking forward to my future sailing adventures, and to a future catamaran course with you in Mexico! Fair winds, and smooth sailing!

Captain Mike is outstanding! What an amazing experience learning to sail with him. He provided so much additional information not in the ASA books. I came out of this training with the experience and confidence to start sailing on my own. Great experience... thank you Mike!. Mike is my go-to moving forward without a doubt.

My Own Sailboat
Mike was an excellent captain on my first sailing experience! He is patient and is able to cater to many learning styles and personalities on the boat. Sailing seemed intimidating to me when I first got on the boat, but he was able to make it feel relaxed fun, while learning many valuable skills. He has a laid back style that is somehow super comprehensive and well rounded without any tension. I feel so much more confident in sailing after a week with him as our teacher. I highly recommend My Own Sailboat! It’s so much fun! One of the best moments of my life, we all enjoyed his instruction on the boat.
