Detroit Free Press

I tried for months to get them to stop leaving the Free Press Select in my driveway. I called the official number which takes you to India, I called the main number in Detroit, I wrote snail mail letters including letters to the man based in Detroit who is in charge of circulation. I have never dealt with a company that has such complete disregard for the public. For safety I can stop the mail when I travel but it is impossible to stop this litter.

Almost impossible to get home delivery

Expensive and worthless subscription. After years of supporting them by using their advertisers and sponsors now they want more and more for less and less. Do yourself a favor and just use the TV news websites. It's all the same information. Don't waste your money. I've tried talking to their customer service to try and make the cost more manageable on my budget but they declined and were very rude about it, acted offended I even inquired. Abe was the most vile customer help I've talked to. After subscribing with my phone number I've recieved a huge increase of spam calls. Might pursue legal actions against them.

Delivery is unreliable. We have had issues with billing 2 months in a row. This time, the manager told me it was a billing issue on their end. I asked to cancel and was told they can not cancel until after the next billing cycle and I would need to call back to do so. Unprofessional.

I'm trying to get a copy of a recent paper and all I get is the run around and no straight up answers.

Stop littering on my driveway. Called multiple times to cancel delivery of the free edition, still got it this morning. Called again. Absurd. I think they 'forget' that you opted out after a while; so they can keep their 'subscription' numbers up, for their advertisers.

Detroit Freepress over-billed my credit card repeatedly. I called them to change from daily to just Sunday delivery. They continued to bill for full service. When i called them, they denied receiving a call to reduce the service to just Sundays. I disputed the charge on my credit card, was reimbursed by Visa, and received a new credit card. I sent a letter to Freepress customer service to cancel my subscription, since calling them does not work. Detroit Freepress double billed my NEW credit card! I called my bank, who said that Detroit Freepress pays for a service that provides them with the NEW /changed credit card! Bank agreed to BLOCK Detroit Freepress from billing me again, but it takes 30 days for the block to take effect. It is no use calling DETROIT FREEPRESS again; it’s like Russia…you can’t believe anything they say.

Just wasted money on a Sunday paper. HUGE MISTAKE!
