I get take out from Stanley’s because I love their halibut. I definitely recommend it over the haddock, but that would be my preference anywhere. You can’t get delivery from here, but you can call and pick it up. I’m not as crazy about their fries and coleslaw, but the halibut is worth it!

Senior fish and chips. Fish has a lovely light batter. Excellent coleslaw and tartar sauce. Paul the owner very friendly. Great lunch!

After moving to Port Hope and trying a new fish place and being extremely disappointed, I realized how spoiled I was when I was living close to Stanleys and it being my go to fish and chips spot! Definitely looking forward to the next time I'm in Brooklin so I can stop in for THE BEST halibut and chips in Durham.

Our second time coming. Excellent fish and chips. Great and welcoming service. Had their Halibut and shrimp special with fries and onion rings, no fuss homestyle cheeseburger, more shrimp and gravy on the side. Batter was light and crispy, shrimp were big and I like the thinner cut french fries with the mashed potato interior. It was great sitting down again at a fish and chip place finally!

Wonderful lunch experience. The Haddock and Chips were the best I have had in a long time. Was greeted and served by the cook who was amazing. Very very pleased and will stop in for lunch anytime I am passing through.

What a joy to come walking in to Stanley's and getting an exhuberant welcome from the owner. We only ordered fries as we wanted a quick snack to tie us over until dinner but they were delicious.

We were greeted with an upbeat voice. The fish and chips were excellent and everything, including the washroom, was extremely clean. This point may not make anyone else happy, but the bread was actually completely buttered and it made me happy. I hate bread that has a swipe of butter.

Highly highly highly recommend!! Owner is a great guy. Fish and chips were delicious crispy batter beautifully fried and tender and juicy fish that was cooked perfectly chips were tasty and tasted homemade great selection of vinegars sauces and he's generous with the coleslaw and tartar sauce. No wonder they've been in business for so long!

The fish was cooked perfectly and the batter is amazing apparently the recipe from Liverpool England he's been using it since 1974 and it is delicious light crispy melts in your mouth

Driving in the neibourhood and stumbled into this restaurant for some fish and chips. There is something about these diners that know how to make things right. The owner was so friendly, the type that you love to support in this taught time and make sure he stays open with this delicious food. Halibut was flaky done perfectly and the fries are home made like they should be.
