We have recently put in a claim for an accidentall fire. DO NOT INSURE WITH THIS COMPANY. It has been nothing but lies after lies! They are terrible to deal with! They jew you down every chance they get! My family has been in an Airbnb for 3 months and are still waiting for reimbursement for 2 months at $5800 plus our mortgage!!!! They will tell you 1 thing over the phone or in person but when it comes to dealing with the contractor and email they turn on you!!! Avoid at all costs! If you get an adjuster named Lisa Baldwin she is a lier! Do not listen to her!! Fighting is all you have with this company!Dawn Slaney!

Worst insurance company ever. Horrendous customer service and overall just a hot mess waiting to implode on itself. Completely rude, absentminded and lazy representatives, I ended up doing most of the work for my insurance claim while they barely even communicated or updated me on anything. I did all the cold calling myself to just figure out where my car was. I would never even recommend this company to my worst enemy. And for those that have made the mistake (like myself), and are now kicking themselves for not reading the reviews beforehand, welcome to the club.GOOD RIDDANCE!

Great rates, poor customer service and knowledge about their products. I recently switched to Heartland and have Emergency roadside assistance on my policy. None of their employees know how that works. I went ahead and bought CAA which provided excellent service. Cannot wait for a year to end and switch my policy back to a company where employees know the product they sell.

Heartless would be a better name! My home was insured for years with Heartland. For 2021 the rates jumped by 50% without notice and for no reason except that the reinsurer rates had increased; then for 2022 the inflated 2021 rates were doubled without notice and for no reason except to once again blame the reinsurance company rates. As far as I can see they are assuming no risk.

Like to say something positive but on my third adjuster in a month and a half keep sending same documents .Rental was back bedor they even returned a phone call after 8 attempts in 30 days.No money for lost wages in 6 weeks.Not hard to figure why people get lawyers to deal with these people.Not a pleasant experience.Glad I take pictures and document my calls emails and hurdles .R.Findlay

Been with then a month .. and nothing but hassle . They took money from my account 3 times when they weren't supposed to and left me -200 in my bank 3 times now .. was hoping this woulda been a good experience... unfortunately not so far . i cancelled my insurance in december , they are now sayin i owe 400 which i dont . i paid October and decembers . i have all statements and everything .

Heartland Mutual are crooks. We have been a loyal customer of theirs for quite some time and have claimed very little--house and auto insurance. Our basement had a minor flood back in September due to a sump pump malfunction and everything went seemingly well with them. However, when we went to pay our renewal at the beginning of June they notified us after paying that they had cancelled our flood coverage and if we wanted it add it back on as a premium, then we could do so. Virtually leaving us without coverage without our knowledge. When I inquired as to what it would cost to add this premium" back on they gave us a quote of $1600 yearly on top of what we already pay. I am now looking for a reputable company to handle all of my insurances because that is assinine."

Been loyal to this company for 20 years with multiple things insured with them..just got dumped to the curb with 6 days notice of cancellation of all things insured with them. The reason they canceled was because of a missed payment on my home isurance (a clergical error on their end), yet they are sending me a refund of $500 that I prepaid them in vehicle insurance(which they canceled as part of the package)

Got rear-ended after 2-3 months of owning my car. Other than a bit of a wait for replies at first, the claim went smoothly. No pushing for their recommended shops, instant yes to my choice of shop. Glad i chose Heartland for my car and truck.
