BARC's Rescue

Bunch of clowns. Avoid this rescue at all costs.

We have both fostered and adopted twice from Barcs and they have been absolutely amazing both times. We will always recommend anyone looking to add a dog to their family look to Barcs.

BARC's has to be one of the most unprofessional rescues I have ever heard of or dealt with.A couple months ago we ran into one of their rescues out for a walk. We met the dog and decided to look him up online to learn his story. In reading, BARC's listed the dog as being good with other dogs and fully house trained. We did several visits with the rescue including one overnight with our dog and found no issues. At this point we decided to rescue the dog.After less than 48 hours with the new dog, we came to find out he was not house trained (multiple urine incidents in our home) and that he was not good with other dogs. After less than 72 hours with the rescue from BARC's he was attacking our dog continuously and we sufferef several bites to us. At this point, we reached out to the foster at BARC's to discuss next steps as it was clear this could not continue. Our dog was petrified in his own home due to this new dog. The foster from BARC's was completely understanding and informed us to return the rescue to him due to these issues and that he'd take it from there.When we reached out to BARC's to inform them of what was happening, we were met with the utmost disrespect from their staff (Jody). We were told the steps we took were completely incorrect and that the rescue's behaviour was our fault. They also told us we will not be refunded our adoption fee and that they are also going to charge a second adoption fee to the foster who has now taken the rescue in.We asked to appeal their decisions in order to recoup the adoption fee along with the money we had spent up to this point on the rescue (vet appointments to complete testing the rescue did not complete). Their board met today and decided to refuse this appeal.I normally support rescues but I absolutely cannot support a rescue that lies in their online profiles and treats adopters with such disrespect.
