This was quite an unpleasant and re-victimizing experience as an aboriginal family in need. As this website states, sadly, me and my 2 grandsons whom I successfully rescued from the foster care system were denied after many weeks of waiting for forms and such, taking the time off work etc...I was told by an unsurely woman that grandchildren a grandmother families were not allowed low rental housing adding me and my 8+6 yr old grandsons are treaty status. I was appalled as a single-working first nations grandmother who also is a front-line worker residential school survivor helping those in need to be denied in such a rude an oppressive manner. I am ashamed by Amisk housing and their false advertisement if helping ABORIGINAL families in need" and feeling oppressed by my own culture and representing those first nation women who have lived generational oppression. Never did I think AMISK housing would be one of them tsk tsk...they should be ashamed of themselves."

I made an appointment to apply for housing. I had all documentation printed off and was on my way to my appointment at 11:00am. I got stuck going through a construction zone and was running late. I tried calling to let the receptionist know but she never answered my phone call. I was knocking on the office door by 11:10am and it was locked. I tried calling but no answer. This woman is still unprofessional.

Not native owned like they once were. They were taken over by Canada Mortage Housing Corporation.

I have 5 children and the receptionist at amisk kicked me off the list and discriminated me for having 5 children she right out said it herself which is a lie cause I know they have accommodated people with far more children than me I am taking legal action and filing a LAW SUIT against Amisk for discrimination I have witnesses to the way I was treated I waited 2 years on this list and was given no notice about being taken off the list. I am stressed out and hurt by the actions they are supposed to be helping people not calling me names and hanging up on me as well as putting me down for having 5 children canada has no rules about how many children you can have am disgusted by this woman's actions! Leagal action will be taken!

I've been a tenant with Amisk for the past 4 years. It's a great company to rent with. They fix any house problems as soon as possible. They work with you when needed. Very grateful they gave me a place to call home they made it possible for me and my kids to live without worrying. Thank you Amisk and Ala!!

What a joke! My husband and I went here to ask about housing and before we could even ask any questions, the receptionist was snappy, unprofessional and extremely rude! This woman is the first contact within the company and should conduct herself in a professional manner towards potential clients!!! Amisk should consider finding a receptionist that can be empathetic to the needs of aboriginal people! It wouldn’t hurt to make sure they’re at least aboriginal too! I will NEVER recommend or refer anyone to this place!

I was denied even to fill out an application based on the fact i have 5 children.The receptionist told me they do not have accommodations to suit my needs at all and to go to capital region housing. i was disappointed i will be filing a formal complainant against the receptionist and Amisk Housing.. supposedly suppose to being helping aboriginal people... they take federal and provincial money to help our nation. what a joke the little people have a voice too
