Great place for all you can eat. Large selection. Good options for those like myself who can't eat fish( at a sushi place). Wife loves sushi, so it works out good. Dinner menu is slightly better than lunch menu but both are great. Would highly recommend the beef sashimi.

The sushi is good and the presentation is always nice. Customer service needs improvement. Getting tables mixed up (there was us and one other table) and it felt rushed by the servers with our food. The price has gone up to nearly $40 a person for dinner, so rushing is not ideal... And they can put some thought into it, our last order entry we did a few little appetizers and ice cream. The ice cream came, then we waited 40 minutes for our apps to come, they didn't. So we called the check, paid, then our apps came as we were standing up to leave and she held it and said no?" ... well that would have been nice about 50 minutes ago. For the price

Amazing job with everything from seating to the excellent food. The staff was very Covid conscious and food was absolutely fantastic, I highly recommend the Spicy California roll The Mango ice cream dessert was great as well as any roll. The shrimp appetizer was great, too.The ambiance and drinks were top notch as expected. Definitely an experience.

Decided to come here for lunch instead of Mito Sushi at the mall because of the wider range of items offered at Makimono.We opted for the all you can eat because, sushi! :)To start, the experience began in a rather strange and rude way. I can appreciate the language barrier between staff and patrons being a challenge, however the rude attitude we received was not expected.After we were confronted about our choice of all-you-can-eat vs choosing to order off the menu we were sat down at our table.We ordered and began to receive items in a rather random order to our table (trivial, I know, but I've come to expect the salad/miso soup to start. Not at the end of our meal)It wasnt until after we were presented with our bill, paid and received our change did we then finally receive our last missing dessert item.Typically I wouldn't complain about small details like this, the food was decent - yes there are much better sushi places in the area, but the rude attitude of our server was so off putting we nearly left after having been seated.It's odd to feel unwelcome in a restaurant, but that's what we felt here.Food was okayService was terribleRestaurant was okay, relatively clean however our table was quite stickyI strongly recommend ordering from any other sushi place than this one. Or at the very least stick with takeout and skip the unnecessary rudeness.We won't be dining at or recommending this location any time soon.

We have done all you can eat and take out from here. Both are good, they offer free delivery in bowmanville over $35. Their take out menu has huge variety while their all you can eat lunch menu is limited, so you may not find all their rolls available for the buffet.

Nice clean, bright and friendly restaurant. Food was awsome !!!! Would recommend to everyone that likes Japanese food to try it out, you won't be disappointed.

This place is definitely a 4 star st least. People have such high expectations for all you can eat sushi when it's a very cheap price in reality. Anyone expecting 5 star sushi at the price you are paying is just not living in reality. I find there is a lot of picky, whiners when it comes to all you can eat sushi in general. Complaining about too much rice to fish ratio when it's all you can eat... cut some rice off then and get more. It's like $40 for all you can eat dinner, and I probably eat $60 worth of sushi in reality. They reserve the right to charge you for unfinished portions, but I've left 1 or 2 pieces and was not charged. Servers are very courteous and friendly as well.I always get all you can eat and never touch anything but sushi. So if you come for sushi" but your one of those people that just eat California rolls and veggie options and Chinese food then yeah it's not worth it. And if your coming to an all you can eat sushi restaurant that has over 100 menu items

The food was fresh and delicious. The service was great also. I love this restaurant and will keep going there again and again. Great value for your money. Worth every cent. My family went for Easter Sunday and we are so happy we did.

The dishes look beautiful until you taste them. Rolls are not tasty. Beef was not eatable at all, just a chewing gum. Don’t even try all you can eat at this place. Staff was nice. Place was not crowded at all and now I understand why.

Had take-out from Makimono before and liked the sushi. However, feels like it's not the case for all-you-can-eat sushi, especially sushi felt to have way more rice on them than a-la-carte/take-out orders.
