Brighton Comedy Course

I’ve just completed Lou’s course and absolutely loved it. The 8 weeks guide you through the process of writing and performing your first set. The graduation night was a total success. I’d always wondered if comedy was something I could do and with the help of this course and the accompanying book I’d say it definitely is.

I would highly recommend this course. Louise is incredibly positive and supportive. She not only gives great advice and guidance on how to write material but also creates a safe space to practice performing in front of others. My group made amazing progress over eight weeks and I am so proud of our graduation performance

Louise is an amazing teacher/ mentor. This course pushed me all the way out of my comfort zone, but was such an amazing experience. Really helps with confidence, writing & looking at life from a new perspective. It’s a great way to let off steam & the fellow newbies in my class were soooo lovely. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough.

I loved doing this course! As a full time working mother of two young kids, I haven't done anything that is creatively challenging outside of work for years because it felt like I didn't have enough time, but my new years resolution was to make time for fun and engaging activities. It was the best decision - it was the funnest thing ever and having something creative to engage with really impacted my general day to day happiness. The classes are very social so I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to get out and meet people. I also learned useful skills for my job as a university lecturer - Lou is a great teacher. I did the course because I thought it would be an interesting challenge, but I assumed I would be one of the worst people, but thanks to Lou I actually did better than I thought. Everyone should do this course!

I've attended both the comedy weekender, pre-pandemic and recently the beginners 8 week course. A fabulous experience to understand the ins and outs of comedy and actually get up on stage in front of a 120+ live audience for my first gig as a stand up comedian. Louise takes you through many steps to combat your fears and also to become a comedy writer. This helps build confidence in your material and then deliver a good show. You meet like minded people on the course and have lots of fun! Get out of your comfort zone and give it a try.

Wow! What a great experience. Signed up as was always something I wanted to do but was too nervous . I met 10 fantastic other people and learnt so much in the 8 weeks. The graduation was such a buzz and I can finally tick off that I have done stand up comedy to a crowd. Would thoroughly recomend this course it was fabulous.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Doing this course allowed me to get into a consistent routine of writing comedy and to face the fear of public speaking. The group interaction was great, and Louise made sure our performance night was memorable.

I did this course to challenge my comfort zone. I didn’t really believe I could stand up and perform comedy, I’d never even held a mic before. But after the graduation I couldn’t believe how well it went, and that I’d actually enjoyed performing.A great course. Eight weeks of exploring how to write, edit and perform comedy material. Louise and the group made a really safe space in which to see what worked and what didn’t. Lots of great advice and feedback. I recommend doing this course, especially if you don’t think you can.
