Martino's Bridal Alterations

I had a place in mind to alter my Enzoani wedding dress prior to the pandemic because I read they had worked with such dresses, but they closed down during the pandemic! =(So I rushedly looked for another location in Ottawa with good reviews. In hindsight I don't know why I did Ottawa. Yes we were having our wedding in Ottawa but we lived in Brockville, moving to Gananoque. I guess I just felt there would be better services in a large city.Theresa took me on and I explained what I wanted with the dress - to be fitted (obviously), and a bustle. I showed her how my dress had an attachment train and the dress itself had little hooks to connect it to.I scheduled appointments well in advance. I was often coordinating them in conjunction with our other Ottawa appointments regarding the wedding, often taking time off work to come up.On one occasion I came for my appointment and she said it wasn't done. She looked very upset at herself and said that someone else had lost so much weight and she had a lot on her plate. I get it, but I drove from Gananoque. She asked if I could return the next day. No I could not. It was a very expensive gas drive at the time. I left, defeated, going to try to figure out my life. My husband was in the car and told me to go back and sort it out, at least try it on again to see if I could do our choreographed dance in it. It's a good thing I did? She had found the dress, it was not done but half done? Also, no way I could do our choreographed dance in it so we went out to find a dance dress.We scheduled an appt for last pickup and she told me that I need to remind her? This is bizarre to me because I don't know why I need to remind you of the appointment you made with me, you are the business. But regardless I put a reminder to myself with all my crazy life to remind her of our appointment the day before the next one.All in all the dress was done very well. It's an amazing dress so it would have stolen the show either way. However, the hooks for my special attachment disappeared on one part. We found most of them but I think one was lost in the alterations. Would have been nice to have a heads up.I would work with her again if I were local, but for someone who cannot go through the scheduling hoops I would not recommend.

I've had so much tailored and altered here, including my wedding dress. Her attention to detail is great. Super friendly and wants to ensure you're satisfied. Highly recommended!

I had my wedding dress altered here and Theresa is an absolute wizard!! She completely reworked the bodice of by wedding gown- front and back and turned it into exactly what I was hoping for and charged me literally half the price I was quoted by other establishments.This dress used to not be backless and was full of illusion netting. Five stars!

Excellent service

Theresa is a master of her craft. She did an amazing job altering my wedding dress, paying great attention to every detail. I felt beautiful and confident on my big day, knowing and feeling that my dress was fit to perfection.

SIX VISITS! My alterations (a bustle, train shortening and going 1 size down) took 6 visits and wasn't ready until 5 days before my wedding when I was asked to provide her with more time, said no and I took it as is. It was a tad tight, the bustle wasn't complete, and she randomly changed the cups between the 5th and 6th visits to MUCH more padded ones, when my others were unpadded. I see all highly rated reviews but none are recent. I should have known. I would like to warn any bride, DON'T DO IT! Working with a seamstress who does not listen or communicate is not what you need with an upcoming day to plan.

WARNING Do NOT bring your wedding dress here!!My alterations were so unbelievably over priced and so poorly done. It almost makes me tear up thinking about it. You could easily tell they were rushed and not completed properly. She cancelled a few of my appointments on short notice and took a lot longer then advised. I didn’t end up getting my dress back until the day before I left for my wedding. It added a lot of unnecessary stress and gave me no time to have anything fixed.All buttons that were added to my train were either sewed on crooked, or falling off. We had to fix multiple buttons the morning of my wedding. My straps were sloppy and not tight enough. I had to keep pulling them up all night and ended up adding safety pins to keep them in place. I had requested “light” padding be added to the cups. However, she ended up adding +++ padding, which was highly noticeable, especially in pictures and it made the dress super uncomfortable. I had to cut them out half way though the day.Overall, it was NOT a good experience and I would recommend looking elsewhere for any bridal alterations.
