Exploring this abandoned mine was a great pleasure and a unique experience for me. The lime deposits and microorganisms on the walls and ceiling were fascinating. Although there was a pool of water at the entrance, we were able to walk carefully on the wooden planks and pallets even with just shoes. A flashlight is a must-have.

The side road down to the mine is very steep and rocky. Best to park up top and hike down to the mine if you don't have a lifted or capable 4x4 to make it back up. The road past the mine is very tight and narrow in places as it winds down the mountain to Westside road. Wouldn't recommend taking it down in anything wider than a 90's jeep grand cherokee.

The mine currently has water throughout. Best to wait a few weeks for the water to clear out if you want to enter the mine.Google maps pin location is accurate.Best to park near the road and walk down, as the road close to the mine is in poor shape.4X4 or vehicle with lots of ground clearance recommended.Don’t forget flashlights or headlamps!
