Foodland - Norwood

This is a quaint, country grocery store whose staff is lovely, helpful, and friendly. They even congratulated me on the birth of my infant son. In my opinion, to get a true feeling of the people in a town, visit the local grocery store. This store did not disappoint.The store had decent sales on selected items. Although, some items were a little pricey. The shelves were well stocked, and looked presentable. They had a good selection of items for being a smaller store. The floors were clean even with the snow, salt, and sand on the ground outside. Kudos to the staff of this store! You represented your community and your company very well.

Would be a better shopping experience and I would have bought more than one item if I hadn't been followed around the store by one of the employees turning the lights off in the coolers.When I came out of the store I thought perhaps I'd made a mistake and it was later than I thought but it was 8:35 p.m. The store closes at 9:00. When I arrived at the store I thought it was closed because there were only two cars in the parking lot. I guess I know now why they're not busy. I didn't stop at Havelock on the way past around 8 because the parking lot was 3/4 full. Not surprising.

Very over priced. 2 stars because staff is very good. Grocery selection and price gouging is terrible.

The 2 stars are only for the professionalism of the staff and how pleasant, helpful, courteous they are. Also a for the fact that they do keep the shelves better stocked than other stores.As for being a place to do your grocery shopping, I sure hope you don't have NO OTHER choice.Even before COVID, this store's prices were atrocious for most products! Also, as far as their fresh produce goes, flies are always landing all over that.Their pre made Caesar/garden salads and the like, are often still on the refrigerated shelf past when they should have been disposed of. Either by date or by the look of them.I feel so sorry for those who have no choice but to shop here.As for cottagers and tourists, there are many other far better grocery stores you can stop at a mere half hour or so south of Lakefield. It's well worth it to go to a store in Peterborough instead, even if you need to detour off the highway a short way before getting to the cottage.

I love this grocery store.The fruit isn't always at its best and a lot of the time I get rotten fruit and it's very over priced... so that's why the 4 stars but I buy there pre-made fruit snacks and dinners and lunch stuff ... and it's always really good. Got my kids bday cake here and there cupcakes are very yummy too... And the prices are awesome! There baked goods are the best in town! I shop here alot. I love the staff and since moving here I think Ive become a regular lol...

Great selection for a small footprint. Even has a small deli and hot food section. Staff are very helpful. I was exceedingly impressed when I injured my back, staff noticed my cane, and offered to load my car for me. Great place with a great customer-oriented culture.

The store has fairly good variety for a small town. Norwood is getting more diverse. I hope to see more vegan and organic options. Prices are higher than larger stores .

Large, well maintained grocery store. Lots of selection, great sales, a lot of parking available. Open late for a small town loke Norwood. Thank goodness for that, I was able to grab a snack and some advil for my trip home to Woodville :) Very friendly staff too.

Terrible. Any given item 1.5x the price of any other grocery store. Staff is useless and unhelpful. 1/6 people actually do anything. I'd rather drive 10 minutes than walk and support this dirty mess.
