Beautiful architecture, but not many food options. There's only one coffee place for the whole station.

This is a small train station compared to those in Toronto and Montreal. That said, having used both the business class lounge and general waiting area, I find this a very comfortable station.As another reviewer said, I wished they had more amenities, like a gift shop. I am not going to be too critical, however, as the vending machines and coffee shop serve passengers well.

Traveled on Via Rail Canada from Ottawa to Toronto in mid-May 2023. The train station is clean, easy to navigate and has a small café.

Very morden train station, disabled access throughout. Vending Machines and rest rooms. Also has the executive lounge for via rail. Lots of comfortable seats in the waiting area with two large screens giving basic train time table information. Taxi service could be better they fight for your attention. Waiting right outside the front door for pick up with many large parking lots surrounding. It truly is an amazing experience unlike any airport terminal. Train station is also very clean.

Very nice employees, organized and on time. Only one really irritating complaint. Two male employees who stood at the entrance of the train cart did not help a single person with their luggage. They both just stood there and actually watched people struggle to lift heavy luggage up into the train. I could see the confusion on other people's faces.

Ottawa Train Station
Very easy to navigate and was not busy at all. I much preferred their VIA Rail set-up to Toronto's Union Station - as someone with chronic pain, I was able to sit until most everyone else had gone through the line as standing in long lines is hard on my body. I knew that the attendants could see me and I was not worried about getting left behind.

My experience was a positive one! I have recently been ill and had to use a walker. After I checked in, a staff member came along with a wheelchair to assist me with pre boarding and looked after my luggage.The station staff made it easy for me.
