I don't know how I feel about this vet, but it's not positive. Cat and I were immediately placed in a private room to wait, but the room smelled strongly of dog urine. The vet came in and inspected my cat but didn't share any of her findings. When I mentioned bringing another cat into the home, she suggested testing for FIV and FeLV just to be on the safe side. They removed my cat from the room a long time to do this, far longer than it would take to get a blood sample. When I stepped out of the room wondering how long I'd be waiting, I was told they already had the blood. But no cat. Finally my cat was returned. When I asked how long it would take to get results they told me what was required, seemed to be suggesting it could be done in half an hour, but told me I'd have to wait until Monday for results (from Thursday). Now I'm looking online and seeing the best test only takes 15-20 minutes. They gave me no indication of what was going on, separated me from my cat, and now I get to spend the weekend in the dark"

Love our vet (Dr. Wu) and everyone else at this clinic. Very professional, but caring and warm in their treatment of our wee Rosie dog and of us, her human component. We highly recommend this clinic.

I had to do the hardest thing and say goodbye to my best friend today. I have experienced the most compassionate care and support from everyone at this clinic over the last few months and today. I am so grateful for the team that helped me through this painful goodbye. My heart will forever be missing my Wally bear.

I work next door and I called today to see if they could get my parents dog Harley in on an emergency basis. Immediately I was offered a same day appointment for him. Harley was seen by Dr. Wu and according to my parents she was wonderful with him and was able to thoroughly examine him. Thank you so much to Dr. Wu and team for helping out Harley today, I really appreciate the urgent care we received.

Dr. Woo is practical, thorough, and respectful with a client unable to give her a blank cheque for tests. Few Vets have this ability or the patience to answer the many questions to achieve a good workable plan for the end of life care for my furbaby. Thanks to Dr. Woo!

I'm finding Applecross more and more disappointing at every interaction. I have 4 dogs and a cat so I need veterinary care pretty frequently. Certainly frequently enough that they should have gotten to know me. You'll never see the same veterinarian at Applecross so there's never an opportunity to build a relationship. They don't know me or my crew, and they don't really care either. My cat has complex eye issues and is seeing a specialist in Victoria regularly; it's almost impossible to coordinate prescriptions or care without having a 'regular vet' and prescription refills are always a hassle and are delayed. However, I want to include that Reception is lovely at Applecross, though.

Very happy with the incredibly thorough and understanding care. All staff were friendly, Dr Tara was exceptional. I will be bringing all our pets here from now on.

My 13 year old Shih Tzu, Keeta, stopped eating for three days, didn’t want to go for walks, was very lethargic and wanted to sleep most of the time. Not at all herself. I’m new to Nanaimo so didn’t have a vet yet. But the reviews and website looked like a suitable place. So I called Applecross Tuesday morning as soon as they opened and they fit me in 2 hours later. I saw Dr. Westworth who Took xrays and tested her blood on-site in the hospital so I had the results withinabout an hour. The results showed she was severely anemic, Dr Westworth wanted to find out if Keeta’s organs we’re affected so she arranged for me to go to Victoria for an ultrasound at a hospital there that same day. It became clear with all the results from these test that she had an autoimmune issue going on. By the next morningDr. Westworth had Keeta admitted to the hospital and was able to administer Cortizone treatment and an IV to hydrate her as well as other necessary medications.Tuesday, the day I brought Keeta to the vet I wasn’t sure if she was going to survive because she was so anemic and lethargic. Today is Friday of the same week, this sassy little Shih Tzu appears to be acting back to her normal self! Thank you so much Dr. Westworth for taking action so quickly to get Keeta the tests she needed in order for her to recover so quickly.I wish I had remembered the names to some of the staff that work there as well, they took such incredible care of Keeta and I am forever grateful! Thank you Apple cross and thank youDr. Wesworth! ♥️

Very pleasant and helpful on the phone. Was put on a cancellation list and got called right away. I like how the Dr. gave me a price for each procedure first and she was very thorough with my dogs check up. She did not recommend anything that she didn’t feel was urgent. This is not my regular vet ( we live out of province). Dr. said she would follow up in a few days. Overall a very good experience
