I can not say enough good things about Modworks! as a contractor i see a lot of different projects and construction practices. The level of care and attention that is put into each project is much better and more professional than the vast majority of builders that i deal with. If i were to choose someone to build my own garden suite or house i would choose Mod works.

They established a respectful, cooperative working relationship with us from the start and were very open to our input while holding true to design integrity. Because we had the desire and capacity to complete the finishing work (Laurier is an experienced carpenter with a long career in construction), clear communication with Modworks was essential. Our questions and concerns were addressed quickly and thoroughly, and Modworks provided exemplary oversight at each stage. Modworks has assembled a team of skilled contractors who hold true to the same values and standards of workmanship. They were considerate of our neighbours and maintained a clean and organized work site. We are elated with the final result – a light-filled, spacious and environmentally friendly Garden Suite that reflects our 1950’s home. Thank-you, Modworks for such a positive adventure.

It has always been a pleasure and rewarding to work with a company dedicated to craftmanship. They don't cut corners and go over and beyond industry standards when it comes to their concrete spec. Choosing a builder for our garden suite was one of the toughest decisions we have made in a long time. With so many builders interested in entering the market of garden suite projects, we knew it would be important to look not only at the price we were quoted but also at the potential for hidden costs. Riall and Doug made sure that the costs associated were transparent and gave us comfort that we could remain within our budget while also receiving a product we would be proud of. Looking at the options of modular offsite building also brought a dimension that other builders could not offer.When hiccups came up, such as permit delays or a global pandemic, ModWorks worked diligently to keep our project on track. We felt like a part of the team and were enabled to make the right decisions because ModWorks took the time to educate us on our options, provide feedback on our choices and was invested in the success of the project. The quality of the subcontractors brought in was excellent and each one of the trades we spoke to were proud to work with ModWorks and spoke highly of their level of commitment to superior craftsmanship.Cameron came to our rescue on several occasions, and Doug and Riall were right in there when we needed them most, even helping to hoist the microwave hood in at the last minute. While we are happy to have a graden suite rather than a dream, we are going to miss having the ModWorks team right there in the backyard with us.We highly recommend that you put ModWorks on the top of your list if you are considering a garden suite, cabin or other unique build. They deliver.

I hired Modworks to design and build a garden suite last summer. At the time their website indicated the type of garage suite I wanted would be in the $225,000 to $250,000 range. After working with them on the design, the cost understandably went up to $275,000(I wanted a gas fireplace and a stand alone bathtub in the bathroom). A couple of weeks before the project was to start they informed me that the cost would go up another $50,000!!! Covid times yes, but that seemed steep. They suggested I go to my bank to borrow more $, which was an impossibility for me. I was tapped with the money I had already borrowed for the project. I found it shocking how flippant they were about borrowing more money. I told them I was going to write a google review and they said that wasn't fair, that they were fair with me. Suggesting they didn't have to give my deposit back, but they had planned on it(They did return what was left after paying for the design and demo of my existing garage, etc.). I don't think they are a terrible company, but I think people need to be aware of what happened to me. $325,000 plus GST($16,250) brings it to a whopping $341,250.

Recently my husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Riall and Cam regarding a granny suite for my mother. although circumstances have not allowed us to proceed right away let me tell you why I would recommend this company .We live in an more established older neighborhood. we love our little 1950s house and did not want a garage suite that didn't fit into that aesthetic.In our initial meeting with Riall took the time to listen to our concerns and was completely in line with our vision while giving us all the recommendations and how they would see this.I would highly recommend this company if you're interested in a garage suite. they listen and work around the vision you have while being very upfront about any obstacles that may come.thank you Riall , Cam and Modworks. We recently used Modworks to build our garden suite for aging parents. From our very first meeting with them I knew that we had picked the right company. The design was exactly what we envisioned. The build process went smoothly with frequent meetings and great communication. They were always open to our suggestions and to changes along the way. All the trades were friendly to us and our children and the site was kept very clean. I would happily recommend Modworks to anyone looking to build a garden suite.

We just completed a build with Riall and Cam at Modworks this month. Building during the pandemic had it's challenges, but the team at Modworks was there to help mitigate them and worked with us to pivot when product availability was prohibitive in timelines or budget. Everyone was very professional, we felt like a part of the team. We now have our multi-generational property and we couldn't be happier with the final product.
