Absolutely amazing service! Kris was very professional and compassionate, he was very organized in all the details of the difficult situation that it was. We dealt with Kris and he was very compassionate, understanding, and helpful. I’d say he went well beyond his duty. We requested music that they didn’t have and he played our CD. For the lunch, he had an extra plate of “surprise” food for the reserved tables.

I lost the greatest person in my life which happened to be my sweet mother Kumba Veronica Mansaray about 8 months ago. The place that was chosen to be was Birchwood Funeral Chapel. Kris and the staff at Birchwood Funeral Chapel were beyond friendly, compassionate, kind, understanding, and professional from start to finish. Kris knew exactly what my mother meant to me and he reassured me that all will be taken care of and which they were. The way he and the staff spoke to me with such gentleness and respect made it feel like I wasn’t even making funeral arrangements for my mom. The day before my mom’s burial Kris called me to see how I was doing and of course he knew I was broken, but talking with him put everything at ease and to my shock he made me laugh and for that spilt second I felt calmness that I haven't had since the passing of my mom. The day of the funeral (Even with a snowstorm) everything was perfect, especially with the beautiful white flowers that laid flawlessly on her casket. A day of heartbreak was also a day of eternal love and mom was laid to rest. Words can’t explain my gratitude, and I’m so happy that I chose Birchwood Funeral Chapel to help me say goodbye to an incredible mother, and that even in death she was treated like the queen she is and I couldn’t say thank you enough!Musu Mansaray

What I appreciated the most, was their diplomacy in dealing with varying views on masking. We also experienced a seamless service for our loved one, with no hiccups, and wonderful preservice music selections.

Your professionalism, genuine care and concern, your knowledge and gentleness made the process of grief that much easier.Birchwood took care of everything from providing a beautiful chapel to have the service, a comfortable place to enjoy a meal - they looked after getting the food, had the servers to serve, setup and cleanup, to filling out all the government paperwork (this can be a huge task if you don't know what you are doing).Kris was always available to answer any questions and he and a few other guys graciously helped me with placing a headstone (one that had been purchased many years ago from a different funeral home) at the cemetery even though it was not part of his job.I felt so at peace, that everything was being taken care of and I didn't have to worry about anything. I would 100% recommend Birchwood Funeral Chapel Co-op for all your funeral needs.

My husband requested I deal with Birchwood Funeral Chapel and more specifically requested I deal with Todd Harder; Funeral Director. My experience was more than satisfactory. Todd provided great advice which I totally appreciated to make my husbands service beautiful. Thank you to Birchwood for making a difficult time very comfortable and memorable for our family. What wonderful caring staff. When you are going through a tough time it is great to have such professionals helping you. The urn we had selected was a beautiful addition to the table and tribute for our Dad. The staff worked on making the tribute card just right. Communication was awesome.

Todd made us feel as if our family was the most important family they had served - he was gracious, gentle, and so sensitive to the family's needs and concerns. It was Todd's suggestion that we as children should share a meal together the evening of the viewing since so many had not seen each other for nearly 2 years. What an evening of drawing closer as a family again after all this time apart. Todd - May God richly bless you for taking such wonderful care of our family in our moment of need.

I recommend Birchwood Funeral Chapel to any family thinking about end of life arrangements. Our recent experience with Kris and the team was excellent. The email and phone correspondence was professional and timely. In person, Kris was patient, knowledgeable and interested in helping us. He was very attentive.We were thankful the Birchwood team had helped us through the prearrangement process a couple of years ago. It meant that many of the decisions were already made and the fees were paid for at locked in prices.The facilities are very nice and the team serving the meal was friendly and the food was good. After the day of the service, we appreciated the package they prepared for us with the cards, a laminated program and other thoughtful details. Our family has found Birchwood to be worth recommending to others.
