My partner and I have been extremely happy with Glen's knowledge, patience and professionalism. I really couldn't recommend a company more. His quote was very reasonable and out of the 3 others we had in, he had the most experience with older homes in our area. Despite our own lengthy period of indecision, Glen remained super friendly and professional. His installation team was terrific and when there was a minor issue left to take care of he arranged for it to be done quickly. The results were amazing. I was all stressed out about having to refinish and we went with buffing. Took about 2 hours and the representative of the company was very nice and the apartment was spotless, no dust. I highly recommend Len Koebel Flooring for your flooring needs.

Our experience with everyone from Len Koebel Flooring was excellent. Glen knows his stuff, he mixed the perfect stain colour for us and offered an affordable price for the work being done. He even went out of his way to do up our floor air registers at no extra cost. Shawn did a great job sanding and refinishing the floors and stairs and they came out looking amazing. He had to repair a piece near a cold air return and it came out looking perfect. Michelle was awesome to deal with making picking up samples and choosing the final colour easy for us. All in all it was an absolute 5 star experience, great workmanship/value for the money. I highly recommend them!

When I first contacted Glen at Len Koebel Flooring Ltd I told him that I was looking for a waterproof sealer as I have hardwood throughout the house including kitchen and bathroom. Glen told me he had the perfect product. He said it wouldn’t be as strong as the factory stuff but then apparently nothing is that strong. However, he guaranteed that it would be water resistant with a continuous coat.After clearing the space – including the large heavy island – our first impression was that the work being done looked great, we were ecstatic to have the floors redone so that might have clouded our judgement. Once all was complete and we had a few days to take in our beautiful floors our opinion began to change. There were a couple of locations where the initial heavy grit sanding gouges were visible – one was in an open area and unfortunately began to catch our eye every time we walked through. The sanding was definitely uneven on some boards. By this I mean that a single board width (maybe from crowning) was sanded to one shade on one side and a different darker shade on the other side. This goes down the length of the board(s). There was also peppering or black stuff almost like it was sandpaper grit that wasn’t vacuumed off properly between coats. The tech picked a number of these off but there’s still lots left. It looks like our floor has blackheads in spots! We were told that these, in time, would wear off on their own.Now for the product. When Glen said he had the perfect stuff, what he really meant was that he had the perfect stuff for him as an installer. Glen’s tech used Finitec Expert Commercial: Ex-Hybrid uralkyde waterborne finish as the sealer. It’s a water-based product that doesn’t bubble, spreads on easily and fast, cures extremely quickly (bad sign), and cleans easily. From an installers perspective this is great as in one day the floors were sanded and two coasts of sealer applied with the third and final coat applied the next morning. That’s fast given how large the area is. An installer can get a lot more houses done with this stuff.As for us the home owners this stuff is sh*t. In less than 2 months the floors were discolored from the sun. We have a mat against one of the glass doors and the change in color was shocking. There is also zero impact protection. The factory coating gave some protection from dropped objects but this new finish does nothing. It’s as if the wood is bare – a wooden rolling pin was dropped and left a big dent in the floor. And finally, as for that water resistance we were promised – there is already water damage in a few spots. Heaven forbid you leave a drop of water on the floor! The flooring (in less than a year) already looks as though it needs a touchup in spots. We’ll need to have our floors redone in a few years and we have no children or pets.Whatever you do – do not put Finitec on your floors. We wouldn’t hire Glen again – and not because of the work (it was okay), but because he should not be using this product on his customer’s floors.

About a year ago, Glen from Len Koebel refinished the oak flooring in our living room. I hate to leave a three star review, but a year later, the living room still has the terrible smell from the finishing. We were really hoping it would go away over time, but it never did even after one year.

A good friend of mine has a busy successful renovation company. For many years all of the flooring work in his renovations has been capably handled by Len Koebel Flooring. Should I need any flooring work done I would look no further knowing that the work would be first rate and the prices are fair and reasonable.
