We booked in for one night on Oct 12th. Upon check in the girl working was really nice and explained everything to us, we went to our room (upstairs in the old lodge portion) and it was pretty clean, except for long black hairs left in the bathroom, no toilet paper in the room, and it absolutely stank of air freshener. As it's an old lodge we knew it would be a bit noisy in comparison to most hotels, but we really weren't prepared for just how loud it would be. Some people arrived to their room around 10pm and proceeded to scream, and I mean scream, until well past 1am. Since there is no staff on reception during the night, I did send a email to let them know as it was insanely disruptive.I did not get a response, and when we checked out in the morning the 2 men at the desk didn't even ask us how our stay was, they just took the keys and went back to their conversation. As this is the only place currently open in Waterton, be prepared for insanely overpriced, mediocre food. Though the servers / bartender are really nice, it is just far too expensive to eat here for more than a day.Overall, I would not choose this location in Waterton again, I would rather spend morekney on room elsewhere with improved customer service.

I recently stayed at Crandell Mountain Lodge and overall, I had a pleasant experience. The room was nicely designed, cozy and gave off a rustic, quaint vibe, the view was great too. However, there was no TV in the room which wasn't a huge issue, but I do believe it should be disclosed when booking for those who may prefer to have one.One thing to note is that the town of Waterton Park is pretty much a ghost town during the offseason, so if you're looking for a bustling atmosphere with lots of attractions and dining options, this may not be the place for you. Only two restaurants were open during my stay and there were no grocery stores or other attractions available. This should have been mentioned when booking so that guests are aware of what to expect.Other reviews mentioned that the walls were quite thin, which can be a bit of an issue if you're a light sleeper or easily disturbed by noise. But despite this, I found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming, which made up for any minor inconveniences.Overall, I would recommend Crandell Mountain Lodge if you're looking for a cozy, rustic stay with a charming bear-themed room. However, keep in mind the lack of amenities in the surrounding town during the offseason.

Didn’t tell us that the town was closed. We booked and stayed in the room itself without actually doing anything. In fact, we had to go to nearby town for some fun.

The rooms were definitely not quiet! Walls are paper thin and can hear your neighbors. The bed was way too soft and not comfortable. Bathroom and shower were clean. Saw a spider in the room but I guess that's ok cause this is an old hotel. I personally will not stay here again. Too expensive

Cute decor, but the room was tiny and the shower cubicle was minuscule. Doesn’t come with “normal” amenities: Kleenex, spare toilet paper, TV. The light in the room was missing a bulb. We ran out of toilet paper in the middle of the night. When I opened the cabinet below the sink: NONE! There were towels galore. Also, it was a low boy toilet! The parking area needs the stripes repainted to encourage their guests to park between the lines. Several took up two spaces, causing not enough parking for paid guests. It was conveniently located, but pricey considering your bang for your buck.

Crandell Lodge is basic, clean, comfortable, in an old building. Kilmorey is the new lodge across the street, check in is there, we used the dining room for dinner and breakfast. You can get a packed lunch there for a hike. It was perfect for us, beautiful drive, lovely walk through town, many hikes to choose from, stunning scenery, we loved our stay, thank you!

Had a nice one-night stay while traveling through the area. While the lodge is not very close to the downtown area of Waterton, the town is not that big and it is worth the short walk to where the shopping and dining are located.I had a room upstairs and it was a roomy space, but don't expect a TV. This was actually a happy surprise for me as I wanted to be outdoors and not cooped up in a room with a TV going. It's an older hotel, so the walls are not very soundproof. For the most part that was not an issue, but the room next door was filled with small kids who did not have a TV to distract them...so running and screaming ensued.

Room was small than expected. Was a nice room, though. My complaints are that the blankets are really thin(Not suited for January weather) and that the heater sounded like a Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25 Foxbat.
