Yummy Yummy Dumplings
Yummy Yummy Dumplings is one of those unassuming, small, “walk down” restaurants in Toronto’s downtown Chinatown that too many people just walk right past. Trust us: walking past this delightful, authentic spot is your loss. The food is fabulous, the prices are reasonable, and the people running the shop are a delight. The Xiaolong Juicy Pork Buns (known more universally as Xiao Long Bao) are the best we’ve found in Toronto. The dumplings are a good mouthful, the dough holds the soup inside and is a perfect, chewy consistency, and the broth and pork are out of this world tasty. If you order nothing else on the menu, be sure to order this!We tried two other dumplings: chicken, bamboo and black fungus (fried); and, corn dumplings with chicken and shrimp (steamed). Both were delicious. The next time we’re back (and we’ll definitely be back) we’ll begin our quest to try all of the flavour and filling combinations on their extensive dumpling menu. We can’t wait for that quest to begin.Three generous platters of dumplings with tea came to $48.00 (taxes and tip included). Great value for money. Highly recommended.

A non fussy dumpling house. Grandma style, made with love. Tasty flavours, but not super consistent. For the cost you’d expect a little bit more. Over all it’s a great little spot to try with friends.

Authentic, tasty flavors (yummy like the name!) and a warm, homey vibe make this tiny spot worth a visit. Dumplings, pancakes, noodles and a few dim sum items are available all the time. Dumplings can be boiled, steamed or fried plus there are soup dumplings. Vegetables with garlic was outstanding. Prices are reasonable.

Yummy Yummy Dumplings is excellent.Food is incredible. Their soup dumplings (xialongbao) have exceptionally good flavor and texture. The rolled pork with green onion pancake was decadent and filling.I wish I had been able to try more things off of their menu, everything that came out of the kitchen looked delicious.Warning: cash or debit only, no credit card.Good news for travelers, they accept US currency.Don't let the no-frills basement location fool you, this is a spot for seriously great food and service like you're a guest in someone's home.

Really impressed by the food! Quite probably the best green onion pancakes we have ever had. The xiao long bao were really impressive; I’ve never seen such dumplings filled with so much soup! I could literally see it rolling around in there. The pan-fried dumplings were also delicious. Service was also really warm and welcoming. The restaurant environs are far from polished, but do not let that deter you from a great meal. One of my favourite meals this trip to Toronto.

Hands down best juicy pork bun also called xiao long dang bao. One of the best Northern Chinese Restaurant in town. The only place that might make it better than this place is a 3 star Michelin restaurant in San Francisco. For this price it's best to have it here. The owner is very friendly and sweet. They only take cash or debit card. From noodles to dumplings and pies it's all so tasty. It really brought me back to my childhood living back home in China.Everytime I come to Toronto I have to walk 23 mins to come here and eat at least 3 to 5 times while I am here.I took some pictures and those are the ones I definitely recommend to try.

These dumplings definitely live up to the name! Fantastic chicken and fungus fried dumplings, and the stuffed pork and chive pancakes were great too. $28 all in for enough food for two, and they even gave me a bottle of water for my panting doggo. Highly recommend and will definitely be back to try some more of their menu very soon!

Steamed pork&chive dumpling is just so great!!! Pan fried Shrimp, por and chive was good too but just steam pork and chive was the right one for me. Jajang was so so.Fyi, they don't accept your credit card. Don't forget to take your debit card or enough cash. Wanna try pancakes when i visit again!

We visited this cosy dumpling restaurant on a cold Sat afternoon only to find every table was taken. After a short wait we were seated as I was not about to miss the opportunity of dining at this well rated restaurant. Seating for about 50 people over 12 + tables. The food was well prepared, hot and served with a smile. Pork dumplings with onion is our recommendation. This is not an ostentatious eatery but a modest business serving delicious food. It was worth the wait. No credit cards only cash or debt.
