Café Mezcal

When they get it right, the food is amazing.But...1- there's more often than not an important component missing (sauce, lettuce, etc)2- when you order, they'll tell you to come back in 15 minutes, only to make you wait another 10+ minutes once you arrive3- they do not respect good hygiene. Three times now I have seen their kitchen staff eat with their bare hands while handling food and assembling dishes. Another time I saw four different people touching food on one plate, including the server who just took a cash payment and hadn't washed their hands, and another server with gloves who sprayed them out of a fantastik spray bottle instead of removing or changing gloves.4- their packaging choices are not environmentally friendly (eg the burrito comes with about 6 tortilla chips, which in turn comes with 3 toppings in 3 separate plastic containers).It's such a shame because I live nearby and it's the type of business I like to support, but it is just too mismanaged and inconsistent.

Cafe Mezcal is a cute little soot with some of the best authentic Mexican food in Montréal. The staff here is really friendly.We tried their burritos and a few different meat tacos; they were both full of flavour. Also their Nachos and guacamole are a must try. The chips are so crisp and fresh! Portions are great. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving some good wholesome Mexican food!

Today was my second time here, first time around one year ago, taco was fresh and delicious, however today our food was a disaster. It doesn’t taste good and not fresh.They just warmed it up.Worst ever taco I’ve ever had.They do not serve any kind of salad.

Excellent but a bit slow service. The food is very tasty, it’s one of the very few Mexican restaurants in Montreal that taste like Mexico street food.

Had the fish tacos on the terrace just beside the fountain, very delicious. Tried the cake tres leches, it's fresh and yummy, a must to try! The service is very good, with a smile.

Very good food although slow service. The quality of the ingredients were high and the prices were very reasonable. Cute place and nice atmosphere. Would definitely go back there.

Homely Mexican food. Large portions, healthy cooking. They use biodegradable straws!

Inexpensive, cozy Mexican cafe. Each bite of their food is so well seasoned without being overly saucy. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. Very friendly service too. This place will definitely be a weekly treat for me from now on

Authentic, inexpensive, unpretentious, fresh, perfectly seasoned Mexican food. Each bite was such a delight that we'll make sure to come back!

Delicious!Avocado smoothy was super creamy. Horchata was amazing.Tacos and quesadilla were also very good~!And that guac... Oh man... I'll go back just for the guac
