Quality work, good prices. On the recommendation of our Whiski Jack maintenance department, our HOA hired Alta Lake Painting to paint the interiors of four of our 3-story Valhalla condos in Whistler, in January, April, and May. Very pleased. Toby is a pleasure to work with, and his crew was hardworking and friendly. Dennis and Markita were superstars! Great paint job! Highly recommend.

I am an Interior Designer from Vancouver and I reached out to Alta Lake Painting over email and received a quick response by owner, Toby Salin. Toby was professional, knowledgeable and was willing to take on my job despite the tight timelines I had given him.He met a member of my team at our job site and completed the paint job the following week. I was very pleased with the quality of Toby's work and was so grateful he was able to complete his work in our timeline.Toby was a pleasure to deal with and I will be using him on all my Whistler projects to comeThanks so much Toby!

The owner is an aggressive bully. Hire a good painter who won’t physically threaten you in a dispute about work. Pretty Good Painting or John Townsend do great work.

BE CAREFUL! They use the cheapest paint which will leave your house looking even worst than it was.My husband and I hired this painting company as we wanted to support local businesses. We just wasted our money hiring the services that we didn't even get.

With my experience and friend’s experience this is the WORST painting company around, I would not even call it a company because it is a completely scam for users ... I’ve heard and seen that the owner is a total joke and he is rude to his customers as the same way he treats to his crew. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.BE CAREFUL PEOPLE.

Someone just brought this negative review to my attention. Here is the other side of the story.The Jenkin family had me quote and then negotiated the price, in writing, for an interior re-paint job based on a color that would cover in two top coats. The Jenkin family pulled a bait & switch the day we showed up to start painting by going from a cream neutral color that would easily cover an olive green color in 2 coats to a stark white color that blatantly was not going to work in two coats. I started the job by saying lets get some paint on the wall with the mutual expectation that the Jenkin family would be reasonable if the stark white color they came up with did not cover in 2 coats. That was the deal we agreed on in writing, prior to starting. The Jenkin family got extremely nasty when I had the audacity to point out that we had a problem early on in the job. I tried to work out a reasonable solution by either choosing a different color that would for sure cover in 2 coats like we had agreed or pay for extra work/material for extra coats to cover in stark white. Tristan Jenkin told me they expected me to suck up the extra cost of getting the stark white color to cover no matter how many coats it would take or leave the jobsite. Classic bait and switch. I stood my ground and left the job site and held on to the deposit to cover my costs as we had 1/3 of the agreed upon scope of work complete. My costs are all reasonably justifiable and are backed up with bank records as well as receipts. Its ironic that the Jenkin family is calling me a scam artist when they have managed to somehow stiff every trade involved in their reno. I actually hope Hugh Jenkin takes me to small claims court as it will totally validate my side of the story. I also have a good counter case for defamation since Hugh Jenkin decided to put lies he cannot back up into print, in a public forum. Anyone considering Alta Lake Painting will receive outstanding customer service and quality work. I have an extremely long list of completed quality work from credible local references from over a decade in business that I am proud to share.

Alta Lake Painting provided excellent service in the painting of our commerical buildings. An outstanding job - they were efficient, courteous, and accommodating in working around our school's scheduling needs. The quality of the work, and those performing it, was professional right from start to finish. Our buildings look awesome! Thanks, Toby.

Toby & his team were wonderful to work with. Highly recommend hiring Alta Lake Painting. They painted the entire interior of my 5 bedroom home; including lots of drywall repair. We hadn’t had our home painted in over a decade so there was a lot of extra time and care required. Toby and his team did an exceptional job. Very happy with the results. His communication was clear and responsive and friendly. Will definitely use this company again for future jobs in Whistler. Thank you, Toby!

WARNING...DO NOT USE THIS PAINT COMPANY! Owner Toby Salin is a complete scam artist. After agreeing to scope of work and high end Benjamin Moore paint he went out and bought the cheapest paint he could find then told us it was going to take 5 coats to cover the existing paint (didn't even use primer) and asked for significantly more money to finish the job. He then refused to credit us our deposit when we asked him to leave the job site. The professional painter that we found to complete the work told us the quality of workmanship and materials used by Toby and his crew was appalling. We have lodged a complaint with the BBB and are pursuing small claims. Learn from our mistake and avoid this guy AT ALL COSTS!

This company is a complete joke, I personally know over 5 people who have worked for this guy and he consistently rips his employees off. Several of which who are owed over two weeks in wages. He just will randomly cut off contact and threaten you when you ask to be paid. He is never present at worksites and blames employees for everything. There are several painting company's in whistler who conduct themselves in far more professional manner. Don't waste your time
