Richmond Elevator

Extreme incompetence. Building at 1050 Smithe had only one of two elevators working for over almost a year. At one point both elevators were broken for several days and the only urgent action was taken when the news media got involved. Since then, they’ve gotten one elevator working barely. It breaks down all the time, every second day pretty much. Right now as I write this, we have NO working elevators AGAIN. Residents were informed last year that Richmond Elevator knew for several years that this model of their elevators were faulty yet didn’t say anything about it until both of them catastrophicly failed. Now, all the owners in the building have had to pay thousands of dollars to Richmond Elevator to “fix” them, yet here we are again with no working elevators and when the one of two is working, it’s bouncy and bangs and sometimes the door won’t open once it reaches the floor. This is a 20 floor building with elderly people, children, people with pets and it is so totally UNACCEPTABLE that we keep getting left with no working elevators because Richmond Elevator can’t seem to figure out how to fix their own product, even after charging us hundreds of thousands of dollars to repair or “modernize” as they like to call it. Total joke. Our strata should sue for all our money back and get a competent company to fix the mess this incompetent company has caused. Not surprising at all that the reviews are all terrible. Shut your business down, you suck!

If I could give them a lower review I would. Our elevator was installed by them less then a year ago and for the past month it has been out of service inconsistently. They came again today indicating everything is fine yet again it is out. They had indicated everything is fine while the elevator was not functional all evenings/nights for two weeks. They clearly do not know what they are doing and keep wasting everyone's time.

One of the elevators in my building hasn’t been fixed in over a month and no response from them. Worst service ever. I think that rancho management services has a tie up with them that’s why the company is still running otherwise it would probably be shut. They should be paying for the wasted time in waiting for the elevator to thousands of people.

If you enjoy risking your life to take the elevator, then look no futher than Richmond Elevators! I recently rented an apartment at the ARC building by Concord Pacific on Nelson Street for a couple of months. The luxury" building was only 2 years old during my time there and the elevators had been installed and serviced by Richmond Elevators. There are three elevators in the main building. Richmond elevator = constant breakdown. I live in a 3 yr old condo, the elevators actually take turn in breaking down, there is always one elevator that is out of service every week. Coincidence or poor quality?

We’ve just finished an approximate 7 month Mechanical Modernization Upgrade of two 25 floor elevators. Richmond Elevator and its crew with Dino as site Forman did a fantastic job and were always polite and respectful to everyone in the building. The job ran very smoothly for the most part. All jobs have there issues but the crew dealt with them easily and kept the job on track. I would recommend Richmond Elevators if your planning to do a Modernization to your Elevators.

Worst company ever ..My condo high rise uses them and they took 2 months to order the parts and then another 2 months to repair an elevator.Finally worked yesterday but then down again today .This company knows nothing aboutefficiency or capability ..2 months to order the parts in today’s world .l? Parts must be sent from Mars .2 months to repair an elevator ?They must be building a rocket to the Universe .I don’t understand how can the Government allow such non sense business to serve the public.What an insane Joke !!Minus 5 star if Google allows it to rate as such ..

I was walking and One of your boys nearly hit me on davie & thurlow at 11am on February 28th clearly because he was too impatient to wait for me to cross the intersection while he was turning right. We’re talking inches away. Plus I still had lots of time left on the cross walk light. I highly recommend that you don’t do that stuff especially when there’s snow on the ground and visibility is poor. Get it together.

This is by far the sketchiest organization that is in the elevator business. I would never recommend using their services to anyone. They undercut the wages of employees, resulting in unhappy and disgruntled employees. The employees cannot provide quality workmanship. The location they operate of is a run down warehouse with an office that looks like it’s out of a 1970’s film. They do not provide proper training to match the industry standards. I would never trust them to work in a building that I would be associating myself with.

If I could give 0 stars I would… we have one of these elevators in our BRAND NEW 2022 condo building in Vancouver. I’ve been stuck twice (along with multiple people from our building), and when you call them for help you are out on hold and not dealt with for HOURS while you are stuck in a metal box. Our 1 building elevator was also on and off of working for months - and 6 months down the line this is still happening.This is completely unacceptable and I’m surprised that this organization is still allowed to legally operate when they are so blatantly putting individual safety at risk. Absolutely disgusting and if you cannot do your job well, don’t do it at all. Leave it to the professionals.
