Matrix Hotel

My daughter and I stayed here last weekend and it was fabulous. Very clean, modern hotel with the best breakfast buffet ever (at no extra cost!). Family friendly and comfortable. The walls were a little thin so you could hear toilets flushing and sometimes people talking but that part didn’t bother us as people around us were quiet. The breakfast was the highlight for sure for us. Staff were very helpful and nice, the maids were also very friendly and did an amazing job up keeping our room. We will be back next time we visit Edmonton! Thank you for a great experience.

Great hotel, the staff were all friendly and helpful. The common areas seemed newly renovated, very beautiful and comfortable. I'm giving 4/5 stars because I wish the room I had was the same quality as the rest of the hotel. I could hear people in the hallway very clearly as if they were in the same room, no sound proofing. Or maybe it wasn't a solid enough door? I wish the bathroom had a fan and normal door, not a sliding door. So hopefully the rooms will be renovated to match the rest of the hotels quality. It is a lovely hotel otherwise. Went to the Envie restaurant; the service was wonderful, great ambience, and the food was delicious. The breakfast was great, there was friendly staff. I know it's silly, but I wish they had waffles or pancakes. But still a great breakfast spread.

Staff have been friendly and accommodating all trip. Rooms are clean, well kept, and the complimentary breakfast is amazing. A very huge shout out to Lauren at the front desk. I had a hypoglycemic episode and ran out of glucose tabs. She bought me candy, wanting nothing in return, just to know that I was going to be okay. She checked on me as I came in the next day. Lauren, you helped me feel safe that night and I appreciate your kindness more than you know.

I have very mixed feelings about my stay.Everything was ok during check in, but when I got to the room, it looks like the couples package we purchased was forgotten about. So I had to stop by the front desk to ask for the chocolates and wine. Then another stop by the front desk to ask about the breakfast vouchers. There was a cockroach on our bed which we brought down to the front desk at night in a cup. The front desk collected the bug and cup but never bothered to ask our room number. The room was otherwise clean.In the morning the breakfast was amazing. We loved it.During checkout we were told a manager would be reaching out but never did receive a call. So I am on the fence if we will be back or if we will be recommending the Matrix Hotel.

Great experience! The complimentary drinks at Loft106 are a nice twist, and the wine was very good! Comfortable and spacious rooms. Could improve lighting with ceiling fixtures, but there are several lamps around the room so it's ok. (A general lightswitch that turns all of them off would be more practical when leaving the room!) Excellent bathroom, comfy bed, great location (few minute walk to central downtown) and super friendly staff.

We held our wedding at the Matrix Hotel and I can tell you, it was the best place! We did both the ceremony and reception in their banquet rooms and they took care of all the details. Our guest were happy that they didn't have to go to another location. The buffet was by far the best I'd ever had - all of our guests commented on how good the meal was. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed & the staff so nice and accommodating! I highly recommend The Matrix Hotel for any events or just a night's stay in Edmonton.

Did not have a great experience here. We booked based on the photos and reviews online and were disappointed when we got to our room. The furniture had lots of scratches and dents, the counters were dirty, and a number of things (eg wall lamps) were crooked. We could hear the guests above us and on our floor at night. The most redeemable thing about the hotel was the continental breakfast which had the standard foods but was well prepared.

Exceeded my expectations.Rooms are nice, they have a pretty good gym that was quite quiet on my visit, the front desk was friendly and they have a Starbucks on site.The only comment around improvement would be the restaurant.It is a typical hotel restaurant with mediocre food and adequate service. They really have an opportunity to improve their restaurant.The included breakfast was way above other restaurants and was good for a “continental” breakfast.I would recommend this hotel to business travellers and I will book again the next time I’m in town.

Fantastic Location, Great staff!! Incredible Breakfast. However The 4 to 6 oclock social is much better in nearby hotels. This could use work. Actual hand foods and 2 drinks at no charge. Presently you get 1/2 a beer and expensive appetizers that were not very good. Also the staff in the restaurant seem more interested in getting tips than serving guests. Often visting amongst each other instead of chatting up guests. They could learn from the front counter staff on how to be more engaged. Overall a great place to stay.

Love this hotel! The rooms are great - nice design, good desk space, great soaker tub, and the shower is like getting a massage. The complimentary breakfast is AMAZING! So many great choices including gluten and dairy-free options, and so good! The gym has everything you need. Staff are friendly and helpful.
