The Mayfield Retirement Residence

My mother has been a resident her for a year. She feels very at home and is receiving excellent care where it is needed. She can socialize or just watch TV in her room depending on her mood. The great food and friendly staff make us all glad she made the choice to make this place her new home.

On behalf of my mother and her husband, I would like to thank you and the staff at Mayfield Retirement home in Prescott, Ontario for all you have done to assist with a very difficult situation. As you know, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer just before Christmas and she is the primary care giver for her husband, who has been struggling with Dementia for close to ten years. With surgery, radiation and potentially chemotherapy coming up, she realized quickly that she would need to find a placement for Bill, but she was extremely hesitant to do so. Bill moved into Mayfield just after Christmas, and the experience has been a great one for both of them. Mum enjoys her daily visits (made possible by the fact that Mayfield is right in Prescott, which is a huge plus). I have also found that she enjoys the activities as much as Bill does - watching movies, staying for dinner. However, she also knows when she goes home at night, Bill will be safe, happy and well taken care of in his current home. I can't thank you enough for everything you have done to help my mum rest easy and to help Bill enjoy his days. I truly appreciate receiving the quick call when Bill is having a rough day, just to let me know that a bit of extra care will be provided to keep him safe and calm. I would highly recommend Mayfield to anyone who is considering the idea of transitioning to a simpler life in a retirement setting. It feels more like home than I could have ever imagined.Susan

Very comfortable here. The staff is excellent and the nurses are superb. The activities are fun and the food is great.
